Belarus' Olga Govortsova enters singles main draw in Shenzhen

Belarusian tennis player Olga Govortsova (world number 149) entered the singles main draw in the tournament in Shenzhen, China (prize fund - 500 thousand dollars).

Olga Govortsova beat Chinese tennis player Yafan Wang (180) - 4:6, 6:3, 6:4 - at the second qualifying round match on January 4. The meeting lasted for 2 hours 26 minutes. At the start of qualification Govortsova defeated Magda Linette (133) from Poland - 6:7, 6:2, 6:2.

Govortsova will play with Tereza Smitkova (69) from the Czech Republic in the match of the first round of main draw. 

Victoria Azarenka (31) will open the new season with the tournament in Brisbane. In the first round match Azarenka will play with Karolína Plíšková (23) from the Czech Republic

Egor Gerasimov (268) from Belarus conceded to Russian tennis player Evgeny Donskoy (130) - 2:6, 6:1, 5:7 - in the second qualifying round in the men's competition in Chennai, India (prize fund - 458 thousand dollars).  

Max Mirnyi will start this season with a new partner - Ivan Dodig from Croatia. In the first match of the tournament in Doha, Qatar Belarusian-Croatian pair will play with the Spanish duo David Marrero / Fernando Verdasco.
