Gutenberg Bible brought to Minsk About 600 people from 24 countries gathered in these days in Minsk. On September 14, all of them were united by the history of book printing. International Congress, which was hosted by the National Library, became, without exaggeration, the culmination of the celebration of the 500th anniversary of Belarusian book printing.

Polotsk meets Golden Collection of Belarusian Songs on Written Language Day The first days of golden autumn in Belarus were remarkable thanks to three significant events held at the same time. They are Written Language Day, Day of Book Printing and the 1155th anniversary of the legendary town of Polotsk.CTV Channel together with the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus presented Belarusian songs to all the citizens and guests of the celebration.What’s more, everyone who came to the town had a chance to visit “Polotsk In Miniature” exhibition, to enjoy delicious Belarusian meals and to meet with famous Belarusian poets at a book exhibition.

Final of “Live classics” competition held in Polotsk The final of the grand Republican competition “Live classics” was held in Polotsk, on the Belarusian Written Language Day. However, only 13 best young poetry readers managed to make it to the final. They had to compete with 13,000 boys and girls, who participated in the elimination rounds with the loved poems of Belarusian authors.

Belarusian Written Language Day 2016: 12,000 guests from 12 countries and opening of Book House The Belarusian Written Language Day was held in Rogachev. About 12,000 people came to celebrate this day and not only from Belarus but also from abroad. A lot of guests brought their favorite books and gave them to the library collection of the town. Thus, a new tradition appeared. As many as 16 stages were working and more than 70 events were held in Rogachev. In addition, the Book House and the book store were opened ther on September 4.
