The international organization Save the Children has ranked countries according to the opportunity that girls have there. Belarus is ranked higher than the USA.
The organization Save the Children promotes children’s rights all over the world. The rankings consist of 144 countries and are based on such factors as child marriage, adolescent fertility, maternal mortality (as an indicator of girls’ access to good-quality healthcare), women in parliament (relative to male MPs), and secondary school completion.
Belarusian women can receive EU support for business initiatives
Belarus women's business initiatives can be supported financially. The corresponding loan agreement was signed in Minsk on July 14. Various European institutions are ready to invest about $10 million in the development of small and medium-sized businesses.
The program will help women participate more actively in the economic life of the country.
Thus Belarus has joined the large-scale project for the countries of the Eastern Partnership. Its total financial basis is estimated at $50 million.
10 million euro for "Women in Business" program in Belarus
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will provide 10 million euro for the program "Women in Business". The project will be operating in 15 countries alongside Belarus.
