On June 22, the Belarusian tennis player took on Croatia's Ana Konjuh. To date, Victoria Azarenka has 2,276 points. Another Belarusian tennis player Olga Govortsova, is also in the top 100 having 851 points (71st place in the world ranking).

Belarus' Azarenka 23rd in WTA ranking, Govortsova down two notches In the latest ranking of the Women's Tennis Association (WTA), Belarusian Victoria Azarenka occupies 23rd place. Last week, the best Belarusian tennis player did not participate in tournaments and now has 2,216 points. Olga Govortsova, who has 866 points, fell from 63rd to 65th position in the world ranking. Another Belarusian Alexandra Sasnovich has 398 points and 136th place. This week Sasnovich plays at a tournament in Seoul after successfully qualifying for the main draw.

Victoria Azarenka loses to world No2 Simona Halep in US Open quarterfinal In the US Open quarterfinal, Belarus' Victoria Azarenka (20) has gone down to world number two Simona Halep of Romania. The meeting was interrupted by rain when the Belarusian was in the lead but Vika did not manage to keep the advantage. This was the third head-to-head match of Victoria against Simona. Earlier in 2012, Azarenka easily won against the Romanian in straight sets but much has changed since then.

Azarenka past Kerber into US Open last 16 In a dramatic duel, Belarus' Victoria Azarenka (20) beat German Angelique Kerber (11) and advanced to the last 16 of US Open (7 5, 2:6, 6:4). The match lasted 2 hours and 49 minutes. The rivals showed a fantastic game making only a small number of errors. The most dramatic moment of the match was in the third set when the German managed to save five match balls. That game lasted 9 minutes. However, Azarenka took the next game and went into the US Open last 16.
