Belarus' Ministry of Taxes and Duties: business inspections reduced by 10%
More independence to business. In 2016 alone the number of inspections by tax offices reduced by 10%. It was stated in the Tax and Duties Ministry of the Republic of Belarus. All in all tax inspectors checked on only 15,000 private businesses in 2016.
Additional measures to decrease tax burden on small businesses are now being developed.
International Consulting Institution to be established in Belarus
An International Consulting Institution will be established in Belarus. In some way it acts as a mediator between the tax payer and the tax office. It was announced by the relevant agency on March 16, 2017.
The law project is now being developed there. It will be possible to find a specialist on the website of the Tax and Duties Ministry in the future.
Amendments to Decree No3 to be defined by April 1, 2017
Suggestions to amend Decree No3 will be defined by April 1, 2017. This was stated by the Taxes and Duty Ministry of the Republic of Belarus. Belarusian fiscal authorities reduce number of inspections
The fiscal authorities of Belarus managed to reduce the number of inspections. At the same time, the efficiency has grown. The authorities check only those places where there are violations. Thus, the intrusion into the activity of obedient entities is minimal.
Inspectors are using a non-contact type of inspections, a so-called cameral tax audit. The numbers prove the efficiency of this system. There were about 20,000 inspections last year. This year, the number of inspections has amounted to 13,000.

The budget for 2017 and the tax code were approved on October 6 at the final session of the 5th convocation of the Council of the Republic, which is the upper chamber of the Belarus parliament. The tax burden on the economy will fall. The 2017 budget is conservative, while its profitability has been calculated on the basis of oil prices at $35 per barrel.

Parcel fees in Belarus to take effect April 14
Fees for parcels from abroad in Belarus will take effect on April 14, said the Customs Committee of the country April 12. The duty-free import of goods amounts to 22 euros per month. The maximum weight is 10 kilograms. This is assuming that people order things for personal use.
The fee, 30% of the sum that exceeds the limit, is paid when the abovementioned parameters are exceeded. Plus, 5 euro will be charged as a customs duty, regardless of the price and weight.
Belaruian businesman Chizh charged with tax evasion

Belarus President signs decree allowing small businessmen sales without certificates up to 2016
Small businessmen in Belarus have been allowed to sell goods without certificates until the end of 2015. The corresponding decree was signed by the Belarus President.
