Runner Volha Mazuronak first to register for Minsk Half Marathon 2017 Volha Mazuronak became the first participant of the Minsk Half Marathon 2017. Registration for the main sports race of the year opened April 13.  Two-time winner of the event, Mazuronak received the first bib number. The marathon organizers expect that about 30,000 people will partake in the September 10 race.  Traditionally, a choice of three distances will be offered: 5.5, 10 and 22km. The prize fund of the half-marathon will be at least $25,000. The route will not change compared to the 2016 marathon.

Belarusian pilots preparing for International Army Games 2017 Belarusian crews of helicopters are getting ready for international army games. In 2017, one of the most spectacular events – air darts - will be held in China. Belarusian pilots will perform on new Mi-8 helicopters. It differs from its predecessor thanks to improved flight characteristics. The pilots are training near Osipovichi, Belarus. The competition program includes several stages: reconnaissance, use of air weapons and physical fitness. The training conditions will be more complicated as new fire missions have been added.

Special menu for athletes during European Youth Olympic Festival Thousands of athletes from 50 countries will come to Belarus to partake in the European Youth Olympic Festival. It will be held in distant 2019, but preparations for the championship have already started.  The application of the Belarusian capital was supported by the General Assembly of the European Olympic Committees. Stadiums and major arenas should be ready for the festival. The competitions will be held in arenas and stadiums of the top level - almost all of them have been tested, except for the Minsk stadium Dinamo, which is currently undergoing renovations.

CTV channel takes part in Minsk Half Marathon The center of Minsk on September 13 was given entirely to sports fans. Minsk hosted today the largest half-marathon in its history. Everyone could choose a distance to their liking but the main track - 21.1 km long - ran through the main avenue of Minsk. More than 16,000 runners and professional athletes started near the Sports Palace. Among them were representatives of the CTV channel.

About 3,000 people register for Minsk International Half Marathon
About 3,000 people register for Minsk International Half Marathon Three thousand people have already registered for Minsk International Half Marathon (in Russian: Polo Marafon). It will become the most important sporting event dedicated to the City Day. The September 13 run will be attended by both professional athletes and untrained runners.  In addition, for the first time in the history of Belarusian running movement, participants of the Minsk Half Marathon will run through the heart of the capital: Nezavisimosti Avenue and Pobeditelei Avenue, Karl Marx Street and Trinity suburb.

Junior's international tournament for HC Dinamo Minsk prizes to begin August 21 Minsk will bring together future ice hockey stars for the fifth time. On August 21 an international tournament among juniors for the prizes of Dinamo Minsk starts in the Belarus capital.  Juniors born in 2000 will compete at the small ice arena of the Palace of Sports. Taking part in the competition will be teams from Minsk, St. Petersburg, Kiev and Riga. Fifteen matches are scheduled. Besides cups and medals, four players will receive the titles of the top scorer, defenseman, goalkeeper and striker.

Belarus' Gennady Karatkevich wins Google Code Jam competition Belarusian Gennady Karatkevich took first place in the competition of sports programming Google Code Jam, the final of which was held August 14 and 15 in Seattle, reads the website of the competition In the final, Gennady Karatkevich solved 5 of 6 tasks spending on them 3 hours 59 minutes. In terms of the number of points he outplayed the top 25 developers from 13 countries. As a prize he will receive 15,000 dollars and will automatically be able to participate in the Google Code Jam finals next year.

Belarus third at one of stages of International Army Games in Russia Belarusian marines failed to bypass the rivals in the final round of the competition Masters of Intelligence. This was one of the stages of international army games, which is a kind of mixture of sports and martial arts. At the shooting range in Novosibirsk, hosts Russia took leadership. Teams of Belarus and the People's Republic of China throughout the competition stubbornly refused to lose to each other, being second and third interchangeably but in the end Belarus finished only in third.

Belarus to partake in 2015 WorldSkills Competition in Brazil
Belarus to partake in 2015 WorldSkills Competition in Brazil Team Belarus departed today for Brazil to take part in 2015 WorldSkills Competition, the greatest vocational education and skills excellence competition of the world.  Belarusian participants will compete in 15 categories. These are automotive technology, information networks, costume design, culinary and hairdressing. This is Belarus' first participation in this competition. Before that Belarusians competed at a similar championship in the CIS and brought one gold and 16 silver medals.

All-round rescue championship held in Minsk July 28 Tame the watery element and save human life. The 40th all-round rescue championship on July 28 gathered on the shores of Komsomolskoye Lake more than twenty top-notch divers of Minsk.  Eight teams competed in the freestyle technique, surprising people with agility and speed. They demonstrated skills in rescue of drowners.  In the team championship, divers of the rescue station "Zaslavl-2" won.

Belarus Win Three medals at European Modern Pentathlon Junior Championship In Sofia, Bulgaria, ended the European Modern Pentathlon Junior Championship, where Belarusian athletes managed to win three medals. Irina Prosentsova won gold and became the strongest in her category. Irina Prosentsova, European champion in modern pentathlon:Honestly, I do not understand, do not realize. It seems that all is the same as it was. I do not realize that I'm the strongest. It still hasn’t come to my mind.

Baku: Journalists shown sports facilities of first European Games 2015 The first European games will soon start in Baku. The second day of the seminar for accredited media and representatives of national Olympic committees was held on March 17. Delegations visited sports facilities in which athletes will compete, as well as other infrastructure. The crew of the CTV Sport also assessed the readiness of arenas. Watch the video!

Inspection commission of Modern Pentathlon Union on official visit in Minsk International Union of Modern Pentathlon inspection commission is on an official visit to Minsk. The agenda includes questions about the preparation and conduct of the World Cup Final. This event will take place in Minsk in June 2015. This competition will be held in our country for the first time. Regulations will be the same as during the Olympic Games, that is, without qualification. Athletes will participate in the following disciplines: fencing (sword), freestyle swimming, horse riding and 800m running with shooting ranges.

It was announced on February 5th by First Vice President of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) Maxim Ryzhenkov during the meeting with the delegation of representatives of the Council of Europe, who arrived in Belarus to review the national anti-doping policy. The Belarusian side provided the foreign committee with a number of documents illustrating the detailed operation scheme of the NOC, as well as plans for the future.

Free visas for IBU Youth/Junior World Championships participants Participants of the IBU Youth/Junior World Championships will receive free visas. This was stated by First Deputy Sports and Tourism of Belarus Alexander Gagiyev January 28. In 2015, it is the second contest which participants receive such a bonus. The first was the Christmas Amateur Ice Hockey Tournament for the prize of the President. Belarus hosts the IBU Youth/Junior World Championships already in mid-February. The competition will take place in the renovated Raubichi ski complex. Spectators will be able to watch the race from the stands or stand also along the track.

Belarus national field hockey team win tournament in Brussels Four games, three wins and a champion’s cup. This is the result of the performance of the Belarusian women's field hockey team at the 2nd international tournament of three nations in Brussels.  Belarus lost only the first game against Australia 3:4. But in return game, the Belarusian team beat the opponents convincingly 8:5.  Belgium were defeated even more convincingly: 3:1 and 5:2. Thus, the Belarusian team won first place and in a good mood continues to prepare for the World Cup that will be held in Leipzig in early February.  
Belarusian athletes to go to 27th World Winter Universiade A few days remain before the start of the 27th World Winter Universiade. The International Student Forum will be held for the first time in two countries - Spain and Slovakia. On January 21, at the National Center of Physical Education and Sport pupils and students took part in a solemn farewell ceremony. Taking part in the event were representatives of the Ministry of Education and the National Olympic Committee. Sixteen Belarusian athletes are represented in six sports. At the Winter Universiade two years ago in Italy, Belarusians brought two medals.
