International Army Games: Belarusians make it into final
Belarusian tank crews have qualified for the final of the International Army Games. Our crews have set a record of the competition defeating over 85% of targets.
Taking part in the decisive battle that will take place on August 13 will also be teams from Russia, China and Kazakhstan. Moreover, they will participate on various tanks.
So the fight will take place not only among humans but also machinery. The teams will have one day for maintenance, preparation of vehicles and weapons adjusting.
Belarus' preliminary squad for Norway friendly announced
The players of the national team of Belarus on August 28 will begin preparations for a friendly match against Norway and the opening match of the 2018 World Cup qualifying against France.

The Belarus national team has risen two lines in the updated ranking of the International Football Federation (FIFA) and now occupies 70th place.
In July, Belarus team did not play, with 507 points remaining. Belarus' next match is in Oslo against Norway on August 31. Norway are in 50th place in the August FIFA ranking.

Bus with Belarusian journalist attacked by unknown in Rio
A Belarusian journalist has been injured in an attack on a bus at the Rio Olympics. The incident occurred after the basketball game Belarus v Brazil, where the Belarusian team narrowly won.
The vehicles with media representatives were attacked on their way to the Main Press Center of the Olympic Games. Witnesses reported several shots. However, later reports state that these were stones. Two people were slightly injured. Among them is a Belarusian journalist. In his video blog, sports journalist Artur Zhol reported about details of the incident.
Belarusian rowers qualify for Rio men's four semifinal
A Belarusian rowing team has qualified for the semi-finals of the men's four at the Rio Olympics after a successful repechage race.
Vadim Lyalin, Denis Migal, Igor Pashevich and Nikolai Sharlap entered the top three crews who have received tickets to the semifinal round. In the repechage, the Belarusians showed the second best result - 6 min. 36.50 sec. The semi-final is scheduled for August 10.

The Belarusian basketball players have got the first victory at the Olympics in Rio! In the third game of the group round of the Olympic tournament manager Anatoly Buyalsky's Belarus beat the hosts Brazilians 65:63.
The meeting did not begin well for the national team of Belarus. In the middle of the second quarter our team was behind 20:38. The coach was forced to take a time-out and drew attention to errors in the defense. The game went better smoothly and by the big break the Belarusian girls were just five points behind.
Belarus' Samsonov into Olympic semifinal for the first time in career
Belarusian Vladimir Samsonov in the Olympic quarterfinals beat his friend, German Dimitrij Ovtcharov with the score 4:2 and reached the semifinal.
Since the athletes know each other well - they have been playing together for the Russian club Fakel Gazprom since 2011 and twice won the Champions League - the match was not easy and lasted 80 minutes.

The Junior and U23 Canoe Sprint World Championships have finished in Zaslavl.
In the morning session of the final day, Belarusian rowers climbed to the podium four times. They won gold on three occasions.
Canoe sprinter Nadezhda Makarchenko was equal to none in the junior C1 200m. Shortly after, she, paired with Alyona Nozdryova, won gold in a C2 event.
In the U23 class, Kamila Bobr won silver in the C1 200m and gold in tandem with Darina Pikuleva in C2 200m.

Both Belarusian clubs draw Europa League third qualifying round first legs
FC Dinamo Minsk, in an away game, as well as Torpedo Zhodino at home, have drawn their first legs of the 3rd qualifying round of the 2016/17 Europa League.
