Belarusian Igor Boky wins forth gold medal at 2016 Paralympics The Belarusian Paralympic team got another medal in Rio. Swimmer Igor Boky won gold in the 50m freestyle. Igor Boky is one of the most outstanding Belarusian Paralympic athletes. As many as 11 times, he was on the podium of the Paralympics. He won 9 gold medals, 1 silver and 1 bronze. Igor will compete in two more disciplines at the Rio Paralympics and, hopefully, will be on the podium again.

In the final round, he defeated Ammar Ali from Iraq. 31-year-old Andrei Pranevich has been in a wheel chair since childhood. Before these Paralympics, his best results were bronze medals at the 2015 World Championship and the 2016 European Championship, and gold in the 2014 European Championship.

Only the group winner will get a ticket to the 2018 Olympics. 21 Belarusian athletes to compete at the Rio Paralympics One more time, Brazil will gather athletes from all over the world. At the beginning of September, the 15th Summer Paralympic Games will be held in Rio. These Paralympics might become the largest in the history of the Games. On August 26, in Minsk, a farewell ceremony was held for the Belarusian Paralympic team. The ceremony took place in the National Olympic Committee. Several dozens of athletes who will represent Belarus at the Paralympics attended the ceremony.
