Security on ground and in air: major drills of CSTO peacekeepers held in Belarus Security on the ground and in the air. Major drills of the CSTO peacekeepers were held in the Brest region. The drills took place on the Obuz-Lesnovsky military training ground near Baranovichi. Soldiers from Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Russia, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan were working together. Over the past century, Belarusian women have grown significantly: more than 100 years ago, Belarusians took only 42nd place in the tallest women ranking. Now they are 9th.

25% of the Earth's bison population lives in Belarus The restoration of the population of bison in the Bialowieza Forest began exactly 70 years ago. This is one of the rarest animals on our planet and a pride of Belarusians. About a quarter of the planet's bison population lives in Belarus.   The last animal living in the forest was killed in the early XX century. An attempt to revive the population was made in the 1930s. A new farm for breeding purebred animals was organized only in 1946. Then five bison were moved to Belarus.
