Belarus has met New Year 2017 with bright shows and lots of fun. Tens of thousands of people participated in mass of New Year festivities across the country, with magnificent fireworks, greetings and music. Minsk became one big festive area that night.
Carousels for children, singing, dancing, and even fireworks. The entertainment program was very diverse in Minsk, with about 30 sites hosting some events.
Wet weather did not scare anyone. Both adults and little children had something to entertain themselves with. Even the elderly danced and sang songs.

Belarus to launch second remote sensing satellite by end of 2019
Technical specifications in the second Belarusian remote sensing satellite are being agreed these days, said Director of Geographic Information Systems of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Sergei Zolotoi.
BKA-2 will be at least four times better than its predecessor.
The satellite will create topographical maps of a 1:10,000 scale. BKA-2 is scheduled for launch by 2019.

Launch vehicle with Belarusian on board departs for ISS from Baikonur
A carrier rocket with a Belarusian on board has been successfully launched from Baikonur.
The flight is in the normal mode, the ship has entered orbit. It is piloted by Oleg Novitsky, who went to the ISS as the commander of the crew of "MS-03 Alliance" together with a French and an American astronaut.

Ukraine Security Service subpoenaed over incident with Belavia aircraft
