Naviband fans promise flashmobs on the eve of Eurovision 2017 On the eve of Eurovision 2017, Belarusians from all over the world are arranging an Internet flash mob to support the Naviband group.  During the next few days, music videos with cover versions of the song Historyja Majho Žyccia (Story of My Life) will appear on social networks. This is the song the band is going to sing at the contest.  The first such video arrived from New York. Belarusian diasporas from Miami, Doha and Madrid also promised to support Naviband this way.

Unique essays about Francysk Skaryna to be presented at National Library On May 3, the National Library will present the book "Francysk Skaryna. From the glorious city of Polotsk."  The publication presents unique essays on the first Belarusian printer authored by writers, scientists, librarians and journalists. Collected together, the works create an integral image of the national hero.  The book was designed by Vsevolod Sventokhovsky. An animated film dedicated to Skaryna and the present will also be screened at the presentation.

Before proceeding to talks on economic and political relations, the heads of state visited the St. Michael's church. They took part in a prayer and lit candles in memory of victims of the Chernobyl disaster. Coming out of the church Alexander Lukashenko and Petro Poroshenko talked with the locals. Belarusian tourists caught in bus accident in Poland return to Belarus Most of the Belarusian tourists affected by the bus accident in Poland have already returned to Belarus. The night before they were taken to Grodno. An excursion bus with more than 40 Belarusians turned over near the settlement of Zawada. A total of 17 people were injured. All of them received medical care. Nine passengers are still staying in a Polish hospital. Their condition is satisfactory and injuries are not serious.

Belarusian polar explorers returned back home from the ninth Antarctic expedition. They were greeted at Minsk National Airport on April 23, 2017. The trip to the ice continent lasted for four months. As many as 6 people went on the expedition this time. The researches set up a platform for the modules of the Belarusian polar station and managed to grow radish and greenery on the cold land of the Antarctica. These are only some of the results of the expedition to the South Pole.
Belarusian tourists involved in road accident in Poland A coach with Belarusian tourists got into an accident at dawn in Poland. The bus was returning back to Grodno from a trip to Prague. As many as 20 passengers needed medical aid. Some of them remain in critical condition in a clinic.

Belarus celebrates Radonitsa Radonitsa (also called Radunitsa) is the day of remembering the dead on the ninth day after Easter. Traditionally people visit graves of their relatives and close ones after church services on this day. Many people, just as Belarusians’ ancestors did, bring Easter buns and other ritual dishes to the cemetery. Nevertheless, priests remind people that the main intention of Radonitsa is spiritual remembrance. Belarusians, who are dear to every heart, were remembered at the Eastern Cemetery on April 25, 2017 in Minsk.

As a result, they planted flowers and juniper. The latter, by the way, are considered the trees of life. Which is very symbolic.
