A complex of buildings of the Embassy of Belarus will open March 30 in Ashgabat. It is expected that taking part in the official opening ceremony will be Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko.

Belarus said farewell to the People's Artist of Belarus Mai Dantsig.
He was one of the brightest representatives of Belarusian art over the last 50 years.
Mai Dantig was referred to as maestro of austere style. He does not only have landscapes in his collection, but there are portraits of Vasil Bykov, Ales Adamovich and other famous Belarusians as well.
He died aged 86 and left a whole era of Belarusian art behind him.
Belarusian scientists develop biological cardiac valves
The heart is one of the main organs, which continuously pumps blood in the whole organism. Cardiac valves, which open and close at every heartbeat, provide the organism’s full carrying capacity. When something goes wrong, cardio surgeons do their job. The golden hands of surgeons change the valves and give the patients a possibility to live an ordinary life. As many as two decades ago Belarus started producing artificial prostheses. It’s the very case when medicine, industrial and academic sciences joined their efforts. Results can already be seen.
Working groups of three ministries to visit Belarusian regions in search of growth points
Problematic issues in all regions of Belarus will be studied by representatives of three ministries. The project of the CTV channel and the Ministry of Culture called Golden Collection of Belarusian Folk Songs is going to go on a large tour of Belarus.

Videotaping enters case of damaging tax office building in Belarus' Gomel
A videotaping of the moment the crime is being committed has been entered into the case of damaging the tax office building in Gomel. It was stated by the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Belarus.
The video was uploaded onto the internet in the name of a radical anarchist organization.
Bottles with flame liquid are seen in the video. Anarchist had taken the responsibility for the criminal act before. The investigation of the criminal case continues.
Customs suppress contraband on Belarus-Poland border

Car with Molotov cocktails detained in Minsk
The March 25 protest in Minsk could turn into a tragedy. KGB officers have received timely information about the planned provocation during the unsanctioned rally.
KGB noticed a passenger car parked on March 23 near the Academy of Sciences.
The man who drove the car to this place is now known.
This is a 32-year-old resident of Minsk Sergey Kuntsevich. In the car, law enforcement officers found megaphones, wires, a microphone and a cardboard box with dozens of bottles filled with liquid smelling of fuel mixture and wicks made from rags.
Hundreds of Belarusians take part in volunteer cleanup in Kurapaty March 25
A competition on the design of a memorial in Kurapaty was announced in Belarus on March 25, 2017. Hundreds of Belarusians came to the historic place to simply clean the territory up.
As many as 20 hectares of land will be cleared of dead tree stands and bushes through joint efforts of non-indifferent people.
The raised money will go towards installing a memorial sign here.

Caiman armored vehicle tested in Belarus
New Caiman armored vehicle is being tested in Brest training range in Belarus. Daily run on the rough, water barriers and shooting from different kinds of armaments. The test drive was held in the severest conditions.

Belarus customs disclose antique icon in parcel from USA
Minsk regional customs have disclosed an antique Smolensk icon of the Mother of God in a parcel from the USA. According to the declaration, the parcel should have contained a picture with a frame.
During an inspection by the customs officers, the gilded icon in silver riza and wrapped in polythene film and paper was found.
The icon was limned in the second half of the 19th century and is a cultural heritage. It is roughly estimated at $4,000.

The Security Service of Ukraine has banned Russian singer Julia Samoilova from entering Ukraine for three years.

Armed people try to violate Belarus-Ukraine border near Aleksandrovka

Military transport aircraft Il-76 goes into service in Belarus' air forces
A modernized military transport aircraft Il-76 (a multi-purpose four-engine turbofan strategic airlifter designed by the Soviet Union's Ilyushin design bureau) was passed into service to the military air forces of the Republic of Belarus.
Today Il-76 has a satellite navigation complex combined with the autopilot.
The modernized aircraft also received early-warning systems of hitting land or other aircrafts.

New child health service center opens in Minsk
A new child health service center with a salt therapy room, four swimming pools and new medical equipment was opened in Minsk microdistrict of Brilevichi. As many as 14,000 little patients are planned to be treated here.
The new health service center is scaled to have as many as 350 appointments in one working shift. Literally, the modern building was built in a four year period. There are two pediatric departments, a dental department, a diagnostic laboratory, a hall for therapeutic exercises and a phyto bar.
Belarus participating in koboshi dolls exhibition in memory of Fukushima victims
On March 11, an exhibition of okiagari-koboshi dolls (a symbol of resistance and endurance) opened in Kyiv. The international project is dedicated to the memory of the Fukushima nuclear accident.
The exhibition features over 200 dolls, painted by renowned artists, athletes, and public figures.

Social aspects: Belarusian government's plans for 2017
During the meeting on March 10, 2017 Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko got back to Decree № 3. The list of real dependants will be compiled by October 1, 2017. Their payments will go towards the support of children only. This demand was put forward by Alexander Lukashenko during a meeting with civil servants on the 9th of March. The social sphere in Belarus is prioritized.
As many as BYN 1820 million went towards these purposes (it is practically every tenth budgetary ruble) in 2017 alone.

Belarus' Education Code to be amended
The duration of the academic year for graduate classes will decrease, and elective classes on Saturday will be available already for fifth graders.
These and other changes are planned to be introduced in the Education Code. They were discussed on March 9 at the Belarusian parliament.
It is planned to reduce the number of types of educational establishments and increase class size to 30 students.
Belarus to strengthen social support for vulnerable families with kids
Belarus will strengthen social support to the most vulnerable families with children. The relevant bill has already been considered by the deputies in the first reading and is now being prepared for the second one.
According to the new edition, parents looking after disabled children are proposed to provide the right to work part-time or at home preserving the right for benefits.
In addition, the amount of benefits paid for care for a disabled child (third or fourth disability group) will increase.
Belarusian student invents robotic glove helping people after stroke
A Gomel student has assembled an improvised robotic complex. It will help in the rehabilitation of patients who have suffered a stroke. The model is actually a glove equipped with microengines.
