Eight European countries, after EU, lift sanctions against Belarus
Eight European countries outside the EU lifted sanctions from 170 Belarusian officials and three companies, said head of EU diplomacy Federica Mogherini. These are FYR Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway.

Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko continues his working visit to Turkey. Last night, the Belarus head of state held talks with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
The two leaders came to conclusion that it was time to restart the economic relations with an emphasis on trade. Belarus and Turkey intend to intensify work in this and other areas and adjust the roadmap of agreements.

The draft of the new Military Doctrine has been approved by the House of Representatives on its first reading this week (April 2016). Baltic Sea Parliamentary Conference may give Belarus observer status
The Baltic Sea Parliamentary Conference can give Belarus observer status, said chairman of this organization Janis Vucans. Now 11 countries are its permanent participants on a par with a number of inter-parliamentary organizations. The Belarusian parliament applied for observer status back in 2010.
As was noted at the meeting, the current visit could be an important step in this direction.
President Lukashenko arrives in Turkey on working visit
President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, has arrived in Turkey on a working visit.
It is planned that on April 14, the Belarus head of state will attend the summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Istanbul. The meeting will be held under the motto "Unity and solidarity in the name of justice and peace."
Alexander Lukashenko is also set to meet with the Turkish President in the evening.
Belarusian Parliament starts new law-making season
The session was opened both in the Oval Hall and in the Council of the Republic of Belarus. The deputies from the House of Representative will decide upon dozens of bills. Some of them are resonant. For instance, a person will be held criminally liable for participation in armed conflicts abroad, or will get fine or warning if their dog barks after 11 PM. During the spring session, the MPs will examine 60 bills. The adopted ones will determine the country's development for years to come.

All-Belarusian People's Assembly may be held within month
Belarus began preparing for the most important political event of the year - Belarusian People's Assembly. It will be the fifth such event in the recent history of the country. The main goal of the event is to refine the state policy for the coming years.

Belarus reaffirms itself on the world stage again. Our country was elected to three bodies of the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations Organization.
Belarus got a place in the UN Statistical Commission and was also included into councils dealing with gender equality and human virus infections.
OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs holding talks in Baku on Nagorno-Karabakh
The co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group began negotiations on Nagorno-Karabakh in Baku. The ambassadors of the US, Russia and France are discussing the termination of fighting in the conflict zone and the transition to the political phase of its resolution.
Meanwhile, the parties declare that they strictly adhere to the ceasefire, which has been in force for one day now. It is reported, however, there shooting was heard last night and in the morning on the line of contact.
First meeting of Belarus-EU coordinating group due in Brussels on April 6

Europe Automotive Holding once declared interest in Belarus and since then the joint production facility has been operating successfully. The lifting of the sanctions was a particular boost for the company.
Armenia, Azerbaijan agree ceasefire in Nagorno-Karabakh
Armenia and Azerbaijan have agreed to a cease-fire in Nagorno Karabakh. The Armistice Agreement between Baku and Yerevan was reached on April 5 in the morning.

Vienna is going to host a meeting of the OSCE Permanent Council on the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh on April 5. Taking part in the discussion will be co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group - Russia, USA and France.

Belarus' draft Military Doctrine adopted in first reading
The new draft Military Doctrine of Belarus has been adopted by Belarusian MPs in the first reading. The updated document defines the main directions of the state's military policy at the present stage of development.
There are no fundamental changes to the approach to national security. The defensive orientation of the document has been preserved. The draft clearly states that the use of military force is regarded as an exceptional measure.

OSCE Minsk Group on Nagorno-Karabakh to meet April 5
