The diplomatic office of Belarus handed over a protest note to Charge d'Affaires of Ukraine in Belarus Valery Dzhigun for the actions of the competent authorities of Ukraine on the forced return of the Belarusian aircraft.
The Belarusian aircraft was flying from Kiev to Minsk. When there was 50 kilometers left till the Belarusian air space, the aircraft was forced to return to the airport in Kiev on demand of the Security Service of Ukraine.
Belarus to settle gas debt with Russia October 21
Belarus will transfer funds to repay the underpayment for Russian gas on October 21, said Minister of Energy of Belarus Vladimir Potupchik. To this day the amount is $281 million.
At the moment, the price of Russian gas for Belarus' gas suppliers is $132 per 1,000 m2. Belarus underpaid for Russian gas in 2016 considering the contract price unfair. Belarus argued that world prices for natural gas have decreased significantly with the fall of oil prices.

Belarus welcomes any progress, contributing to end the bloodshed in eastern Ukraine. Such a statement was made by the Foreign Ministry of Belarus. This is a reaction to the talks in Berlin of the Normandy Four leaders. Their main achievement was the agreement to budge the stalled process of implementation of the Minsk agreements.
Normandy Four talks finish in Berlin, OCSE mission to be expanded
The Minsk road map and the extension of the OSCE mission are the main results of nearly five-hour talks in the Normandy Four format in Berlin. They ended the day before late at night.
