Stadler trains to be launched in Minsk metro in 2018 CJSC “Stadler Minsk” is developing new carriages for Minsk metro, the first supply of carriages is planned in 2018. “Stadler Minsk” is to supply Minsk metro with 10 trains before 2020: six four-carriage trains and four five-carriage trains. The first four-carriage train will be supplied in 2018, and it will also be tested. The trains are specially being developed for Minsk underground. All the technical, constructive, and design peculiarities are being discussed at the moment.

Minsk City Executive Committee approved of the idea. The Latin American artists needed a couple of days to make the idea come true. Belarus, Vietnam plan to create joint MAZ facility Trần Đại Quang is in Belarus on an official visit. After the one-on-one meeting, the talks continued in an expanded format, with delegations from both countries taking part in the meeting. Alexander Lukashenko emphasized the importance of economic cooperation. The Belarusian side is ready to offer its projects in engineering, construction of urban infrastructure. There are also prospects in cooperation at the regional level. The Vietnamese side, in turn, noted the similarity of the positions of the two countries in the world arena and mutual support.

Ticket selling machine appears in Minsk metro The Minsk metro now has its first self-service terminal for the sale of tokens (rounded plastic tickets for one ride). As an experiment, it was installed at the station Plošča Lienina from the side of the railway station. The terminal accepts both banknotes and coins. However, you should have exact fare only: it cannot give a change. If the novelty justifies itself, such devices will appear at other stations. By the way, about 300 tokens were sold through the terminal on the first day.

Minsk authorities reveal possible names of 4th subway line's stations Tučynka, Berasciejskaja, Lakamatyŭnaja and other names have been proposed as the names of the subway stations of the fourth subway line in Minsk. The fourth subway line will run as a circle in the inner administrative boundaries of Minsk. The station at the intersection of Surganova Street and Yakuba Kolasa Street could become Palitechničnaja. Among other names are Kijeŭski Skvier and Aĺšeŭskaja (see the map). This list includes six more stations.

Tunnel-boring complex Alesya helping build Minsk subway The 1000th tunnel ring was built in the early hours of February 13th at the place of the future Vokzalnaya Station, one of the 3rd line stations of the Minsk subway. Construction workers have built 1,400 meters of an underground railroad line using the power-operated tunnel-boring complex Alesya. As little as 20 metres remain to the future station near Druzhnaya Street.

English announcements launched in Minsk subway The English language has returned to Minsk metro. The last time the Minsk subway had announcements in English during the 2014 Ice Hockey World Championship. Back then thousands of foreign fans came to Minsk. In 2015, announcements in English were removed. These days Minsk is again preparing to receive a large number of foreign visitors. Already from 12 February Belarus will introduce visa-free regime for citizens of 80 countries, including the entire EU, USA and Japan.

Czech company insterested in Minsk subway construction contract Czech builders are claiming the conclusion of a contract for the construction of the Minsk subway.  Therefore, the company building the subway in Prague plans to minimize losses from freezing of subway construction in the Czech capital. The foreign representatives believe that the recent signing of a memorandum on the establishment of a joint venture with MinskMetroStroi will be an important milestone in getting the contract.

Minsk subway trains to arrive with less intervals starting from 27th of August The intervals between arrivals of trains in Minsk subway will be reduced. Thus, starting from the 27th of August, people will wait for 5 minutes instead of 6 at the first line. On Sundays, the interval will be 5.5 minutes instead of 6.5. At the second line, the intervals will decrease by 1 minute. On Saturdays, the waiting time will be 5 minutes. On Sundays, it will be 6 minutes. During weekdays, the intervals will be reduced to 2 minutes in the rush hours.

Minsk 3rd line subway stations get official names They are no longer anonymous! The future stations of the third branch of Minsk subway have received their official names.  Besides the already well-known stations, some new will appear on the map of the Minsk subway: "Profsoyuznaya", "Perespa", "Komarovskaya", "Park Druzhby Narodov", "Ivana Melezha", "Zialiony Luh" and "Logoiskaya". First of all, experts were guided by the historical events associated with the places where underground lines will run. However, the opinion of Minsk residents also played an important role.

The first section where the service is available is a small section of the blue line of the subway - between the stations Malinaŭka and Piatroŭščyna. This required 3,500 meters of cable. 2011 Minsk metro blast: five years on It's been five years since the day of the April 11, 2011 tragedy. Belarusians will never forget that day. The rush-hour Minsk metro blast claimed the lives of 15 people injuring further 400. The monument Memory Rivers was installed at one of the entrances to the station. From the morning flowers of April 11, those who remember those tragic events were coming to the stela carrying flowers and candles. Underground workers also commemorated the victims.

February, 8 vertical lifts started their work at the Oktyabrskaya subway station. Such lifts have been successfully tested at the Pervomayskaya station. When the Oktyabrskaya station was opened, such lifting platforms were not part of the initial design. Now experts had to make new ones - about four meters high.

New information boards in Minsk subway Minsk subway has presented new information boards. A map of the area with a detailed description of neighborhoods, the main lines of ground transport, shops and utilities now greets passengers on subway stations. Each subway exit has its number (generally 1-4 but there can be more if a station has more exits).

Less advertising due in Minsk subway? There should be less advertising in the Minsk subway, said chairman of the Architecture and Urban Planning City Committee of the Minsk City Executive Committee Pavel Luchinovich at a meeting of the city executive committee. The specialist agrees with citizens' claims about the dominance of advertising in the subway. This is especially true for stations with large passenger flows. They are Yakuba Kolasa Square and Kamennaya Gorka, which are literally crammed with advertising. At those stations, some say, advertising is quite aggressive.

Present and future of Minsk subway Today, the Minsk metro network consists of two lines with 29 stations and stretches almost 40 thousand kilometers. Andrei Kuzmin, Minsk subway press-secretary:Today, all measures are taken to provide our passengers with comfort and quick access both to work and from work to home. In the winter, intervals between trains are practically minimized. In rush hours, the interval reaches two minutes. During off-peak hours, it’s, of course, extended.
