Belarus U19 begins preparation for UEFA Euro 2016 qualifying Belarus U19 have begun the next stage of preparation for the qualifying round of the 2016 UEFA European Under-19 Championship. Head coach Alexei Vergeyenko’s charges were to play two friendlies against Denmark. The Belarusians won the first game on May 12 (2-1), while the second game is scheduled for May 14.

Belarus' Alexander Khatskevich names squad for Euro 2016 qualifier against FYR Macedonia Belarus’ head coach Alexander Khatskevich called up 23 players for the Euro 2016 qualifier against FYR Macedonia and a Gabon friendly. Our CTV Channel team follows the Belarusian Super Cup to the southern part of the country where Borisov’s BATE and Soligorsk’s Shakhter are going to open the new football season. Pinsk is the central town of the Belarusian region of Polesie, and on March 14, it was the football Super Cup’s central town.

BATE lift Belarusian Super Cup again
BATE lift Belarusian Super Cup again The first trophy of the football season was won by FC BATE Borisov. The Belarusian Super Cup was contested in Belarus' town of Pinsk. Ninety minutes was not enough for BATE and Shakhtyor to score - 0-0.  In the penalty shootout, BATE prevailed, largely thanks to the three saves of their goalie Sergei Chernik. Last year, BATE also won the Super Cup ousting FC Minsk 1-0 thanks to Mladenovic's 19th-minute shot.

2015 Belarusian Football Championship draw made The calendar of matches of the Belarusbank Belarusian Football Championship was announced. The competition is due to start on April 10. The draw held on 10 February has made clear the tournament path of all the 14 teams in the highest league. The reigning champion – BATE Borisov are going to host in round 1 FC Mozyr, who are returning to the highest league this year. The silver medalist 2014 – Dynamo Minsk starts the season with the meeting in Grodno with the local team FC Neman.

Belarus U21 finds out Euro 2017 qualifying opponents The Belarus U21, who have recently returned from the Commonwealth Cup with bronze medals, are getting ready for new challenges. On February 5, Switzerland's Nyon hosted a draw for the Euro 2017 qualifying.  Belarus will face the Netherlands, Slovakia, Turkey and Cyprus in their group. Manager Igor Kovalevich's charges will hold their first game on September 6 at home against Slovakia.

Belarus U21 third in Commonwealth Cup Belarus U21 took third place in the Commonwealth Cup held in St. Petersburg. On January 25, in the match for bronze, coach Igor Kovalevich's charges defeated Turkmenistan 4:0 (1:0).    Like a year ago, Igor Kovalevich's team won bronze medals. In 2014, Belarusians defeated Estonians 2:0 in the fight for third place.

Football is considered sport for men. Belarus to compete for places from 4th to 6th at 2015 Development Cup After the group round of the 2015 Development Cup, three teams in group A have five points each (Belarus, Moldova, Czech Republic) and only China have zero points. However, in the latest match against the hosts of the tournament Belarus, China managed to score a goal. Belarus won in that game 6:1. The Belarus head coach Mikhail Markhel noted that the tournament is not yet over and Belarus will play two more games in which emphasis will be made on a more stable performance.

Development Cup 2015
Development Cup 2015 kicks off in Minsk On January 18, the traditional international tournament Development Cup 2015 kicked off at the Futbolnyi Manezh arena. The competition in Minsk gathered football talents from 12 countries. In the first match, Belarus drew against Finland 2-2. In the other match of Group A, China were hammered 0-10 by the Czech Republic. At the preliminary stage, participants were divided into 3 groups, each containing four sides. Only the group winners will enter the playoff.

UEFA president to visit Minsk in January From 18 to 25 January, Association "Belarusian Football Federation" (ABFF), with the support of the Minsk City Executive Committee and OAO Development Bank of the Republic of Belarus holds the 11th international U17 tournament Development Cup 2015. On January 19, UEFA president Michel Platini is going to visit the matches, reports the ABFF official website.

Sergei Krivets named Player of the Year in Belarus UEFA official website named FC Metz midfielder Sergei Krivets the best player of the season in Belarus. "The attacking midfielder of the Belarus national team held only 20 matches, which, however, did not prevent him from excelling in the prestigious nomination "Goal + Pass Leader". Krivets scored 10 goals and made 11 assists. He played the last match in the Belarusian Premier League for FC BATE Borisov in the middle of August 2014 before moving to France's Metz.

Belarus returns to top 100 of FIFA ranking Germany, Argentina, Colombia, Belgium and the Netherlands kept place in the top 5 of the FIFA ranking. Belarus' Player of the Year 2014 announced Sergei Krivets has been voted the best player of Belarus of 2014. The midfielder, who is now playing for France's Metz, earlier spent football years in BATE (Belarus) and played in Poland and China. The traditional ceremony Golden Ball was held in Minsk to summarize the outcome of the football year in Belarus.  However, Sergei has been unable to attend the ceremony since France's Ligue 1 is currently underway.

FC Dinamo Minsk fans banned from matches in Italy for 5 years 47 fans of Dinamo Minsk have been banned from visiting matches in Italy for a period of 5 years. As practice shows, it means a ban on entry to the Schengen area. "According to our information, 47 people were detained for identification and 14 people were arrested. All fans are young people aged 22 - 27," Belarus Foreign Ministry spokesman Dmitry Mironchik said. The ministry also said that 47 people, who were detained, have received a 5-year ban on visiting football matches in Italy.

BATE finish European campaign with 0-2 loss to Athletic On December 10, Alexander Yermakovich's BATE finished their European football campaign after a Champions League defeat at Spain's Athletic 0-2. Home victory over the Basques allowed BATE to progress to the Europa League playoff but the Borisov club failed to win. In the first half, Athletic dominated in all areas, while BATE managed to make only one attempt on goal. However, at the beginning of the second half, the Spanish side broke the deadlock.

Rules concerning international footballers change in Belarus Members of the executive committee of the Association "Belarusian Football Federation" (ABFF) voted for a proposal to reduce the number of foreign footballers who can play on the pitch at the same time. Members of the executive committee voted to reduce from five to four the number of international players that can simultaneously play for a team in the matches of the Belarusian Premier League.  The concept "international player" was changed, too.
