FC BATE defeat Dundalk in Champions League 3rd qualifying round first leg On Tuesday, July 26 FC BATE took on Ireland's Dundalk in the third qualifying round of the Champions League. FC BATE to take on Dundalk in Champions League 3rd qualifying round The Irish Club Dundalk will for a second time be the rivals of FC BATE Borisov in Champions League qualification. In the second qualifying round, the Irish champions twice drew against the Icelandic club Hafnarfjordur 1:1 (home) and 2:2 (away) and entered the third qualifying round thanks to the higher aggregate number of away goals. The Borisov club beat Finnish Seinäjoki 2:0 (home) and drew 2:2 (away). In 2015, BATE and Dundalk met in the 2nd qualifying round and the Borisov team won 2:1 (home, watch the video) and 0:0 (away).

FC BATE will for sure secure their first place and another title, not everything is that clear with Dinamo Minsk, Shakhtyor and FC Minsk. The previous two are traditional contenders for a place on the podium but FC Minsk is like a dark horse here. FC Minsk coach, Andrei Pyshnik, told the CTV that they have a squad that includes players of all ages, a mixture of young energy and experience.

In the decisive second leg of the qualification round Minskers lost to Austrian Salzburg 0-2 but thanks to 2-0 win against the Austrians a week ago in Brest they took the game into penalty shootout and won. In today's return leg, the Minsk club won 4-0 at home. Korytko scored with a brilliant shot a free kick at the end of the first half. Cherno More were reduced to 10 men late into the first half. After 58 minutes, Nenad Adamovic fired a short from distance that flew into the top corner of the net. Fatos Bećiraj added a third and fourth on 86 and 90+2 minutes.

Shakhtyor Soligorsk succumb to 0-1 home defeat against Wolfsberger Belarusian clubs July 16 started in the second qualifying round of the Europa League. Salihorsk's Shakhter lost the home game against Wolfsberger AC 0-1.  Shakhter managed to get together and organize a good attack only on 15 minutes but Kovalev's powerful strike went wide. Both teams were cautious, knowing the price of mistakes. By the middle of the first half the game equalized but the home team lacked attacking moves.

Belarusian midfielder Anton Putsila moves to Turkey's Gaziantepspor The Turkish football club Gaziantepspor on July 14 announced the signing of a two-year contract with 28-year-old Belarusian midfielder Anton Putsila. The player was earlier contracted to Torpedo Moscow where he scored four goals and became the team's top scorer. The capital's club took penultimate place and dropped out of the Premier League of the Russian Championship. Gaziantepspor finished in 10th place in the championship of Turkey, gaining as many points as Genclerbirligi where another Belarusian midfielder Alexander Hleb played half of last season.
