The national football team of Belarus is ready to play against any opponent, and a draw or a win will be a successful outcome of the next World Cup qualifying match against Sweden. Manager Igor Kriushenko shared expectations of the upcoming match before flying to Stockholm.
The head coach has almost determined the starting lineup but some positions still require a particular decision, including the goalkeeper. By the way, goalie Sergei Chernik will leave the team after the battle with the Swedes on March 25.
Igor Kriushenko appointed Belarus national football team manager
Igor Kriushenko has become manager of the national football team of Belarus. This decision was taken at the Executive Committee meeting held on 22 March by the Belarusian Football Federation (ABFF).
Earlier Kriushenko was caretaker manager after the resignation of the previous head coach Alexander Khatskevich under whom Belarus did not get a successful start in the WC 2018 qualification gaining only 2 points in four matches.
Also, the ABFF meeting decided that Grodno will be the venue for the Belarusian Cup 2017.
Hleb out for Belarus' WC qualifiers against Sweden and Macedonia
Midfielder of Samara's Kryila Sovetov Alexander Hleb will not play for Belarus in World Cup qualifiers 2018 against Sweden and Macedonia, which are due in March. The new manager Igor Kriushenko is now coaching Belarus.

Liudas Rumbutis has been officially appointed as Belarus U21 national football team coach.

Rumbutis, born in Lithuania, played for Dinamo Minsk from 1976 to 1986 and won the title of the USSR champion.
After playing career, he stayed in Belarus and managed many domestic clubs.
It is already known that Rumbutis will hold friendlies with Latvia U21 and Lithuania U21 in March.

Veteran of Belarusian football Alexander Hleb is close to moving to Russian Krylia Sovetov.
The 35-year-old midfielder of Belarus national football team has passed a medical examination in the Samara club.
Krylia confirms the high probability of Hleb's move.
It is expected that the contract will be up to the end of the Russian championship.
Alexander already played in Samara in 2012.

Belarus to play friendly with FYR Macedonia March 28

Mom and baby are doing well. Hleb is happy and is now with his family.

Belarus to play Switzerland in June 1 FIFA friendly
The football federations of Belarus and Switzerland have agreed to hold a friendly match between two teams on June 1, 2017.
The White Wings will play away but it has not been announced in which Swiss city.

Belarus national football team manager Alexander Khatskevich resigns

FC Minsk have failed to enter the last 16 of the Women's Champions League.
In the second leg of the last 32 the Spanish Barcelona beat four-time champions of Belarus 2:1. On 52 minutes Minsk went in front but could not keep the advantage - after 10 minutes Jennifer Hermoso equalized from the penalty spot. 15 minutes before the final whistle Andress Alves delivered the winning goal to make it 2:1 in favor of Barcelona.

On Tuesday, July 26 FC BATE took on Ireland's Dundalk in the third qualifying round of the Champions League. BATE took initiative from the beginning of the match and won 1:0.

BATE into Champions League 3rd qualifying round

Belarus to take on Ireland, Northern Ireland in May FIFA friendlies
Head coach of the national team of Belarus Alexander Khatskevich has named the players who will be preparing for the friendly matches against Northern Ireland (27 May) and Ireland (31 May), the Association Belarusian Football Federation reports.
22 players have been called up for the training camp, which will begin in Minsk on May 23:

Belarusian student to go to Milan Champions League final
A pupil of one of the Borisov gymnasia will go to the UEFA Champions League final in Milan, Italy.
The guy will not just get to the final football match, but also take part in a youth forum and meet with famous athletes.

FC BATE on course to Belarus Cup semifinal
Novopolotsk's FC Naftan and Bobruisk's Belshina played out a 1-1 draw in the last of the first-leg quarterfinals of the Belarus Cup.

Belarus to face Northern Ireland in May 27 football friendly
The Belarus national football team will play a friendly match against the Northern Ireland team, reports the press service of the Association "Belarusian Football Federation".
The match is scheduled for May 27 in Belfast. Northern Ireland entered the finals of the European Championship 2016 taking first place in their qualifying group. At the moment, Belarus' opponents occupy 29th place in the FIFA rankings.

FC BATE lift Belarus Super Cup for sixth time
In the Super Cup of Belarus, FC BATE Borisov beat Soligorsk Shakhtyor 2:1 and lifted the trophy for the sixth time.

Belarus supports Infantino in FIFA presidential election
The Belarusian Football Federation (ABFF) will support the candidature of the FIFA general secretary Gianni Infantino in the upcoming FIFA presidential election, First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Sergei Safaryan told media.
Mr Safaryan noted that since the beginning of the scandalous events, with the removal of the heads of FIFA and UEFA Belarus supported Michel Platini, but after the Frenchman was forced to withdraw his candidacy, the country decided to vote in favor of Infantino, who has already presented his program.
Belarus 2nd at Development Cup 2016
Footballers of Team Belarus U18 took second place at the Development Cup 2016, which ended at Minsk's Futbolnyi Manezh Arena.

Dinamo Minsk scoop Belarusian Premier League silver
For the second round in a row the medal intrigue has been dying in the Belarusian football championship. Dinamo Minsk took on Mozyr's FC Slavia and won the silver medals several tours before the end of the championship.
Dinamo Minsk won 2-0 through a double by Chigozie Udoji and won second place. Slavia’s hopes of leaving the last position in the championship evaporated.
Dinamo thus became a record holder in terms of the number of times it won second place in the Belarusian Highest League – it won silver eight times.
BATE Borisov go down to Barcelona 2-0 in Champions League
In a match of the 3rd round of the Champions League group stage FC BATE lost to one of the strongest teams in Europe, Spain's Barcelona 0:2.

FC Dinamo Minsk lost to Rapid Wien in the second group stage match of the 2015/16 Europa League.

Also in our group Barcelona won against German Bayer 2:1 trailing for the most of the match. Now Barcelona has 4 points, Bayer and BATE have 3 while Roma 1.

FC Minsk in top three of Belarusian Highest League six tours before finish
The Belarusian football championship, the Highest League, is about to end. FC BATE will for sure secure their first place and another title, not everything is that clear with Dinamo Minsk, Shakhtyor and FC Minsk. The previous two are traditional contenders for a place on the podium but FC Minsk is like a dark horse here.
FC Minsk coach, Andrei Pyshnik, told the CTV that they have a squad that includes players of all ages, a mixture of young energy and experience.

Dinamo Minsk went down to Viktoria Plzen of the Czech Republic in the UEFA Europa League group stage. Dinamo looked weaker and could not oppose the pressure of Viktoria initially losing 0:2.
Tomas Horava and Milan Petržela were among the best in the Czech team's squad scoring one each.

FC BATE's and FC Dinamo Minsk's rivals in UEFA Champions League and Europa League
BATE will face Bayer 04 Leverkusen on September 16 in the first round of the Champions League group stage. The Belarusians’ other Champions League group rivals are Barcelona and Roma. Another Belarusian club to feature in European cups this year is Dinamo Minsk. They play in the Europa League group against Villarreal, Rapid Wien and Viktoria Plzen.
Belarus prevail over Luxemburg in Euro 2016 qualifier
On September 8, Belarus won 2-0 against underdogs of Euro 2016 qualifying group C Luxembourg at Borisov Arena.
This is the first home victory of Belarus in official matches since 2012. Last time, they won against Georgia in 2014 World Cup qualifiers on 16 October 2012. Since then, the Belarusians have already held the 6th official home match. The previous four ended in defeats and one was drawn.
The second victory in the qualifying round of Euro 2016 allowed the Belarusian team to gain a foothold on 4th place in group C.

Belarus U21 beat Slovakia U21 in 2017 UEFA Euro qualifier
