Pesniary band wants to partake in 2016 Eurovision Why has Pesniary decided to participate in Eurovision? Roman Kozyrev, Belarusian state ensemble Pesniary member:I believe most of Belarusians think of Pesniary as of a band that sings in the Belarusian language. Piesniary has always been singing in Belarusian, all the 40 years of the band’s existence. This is our strong point. Now we have a chance to present a beautiful song in the Belarusian language to Europe.

Audience to choose Belarus' Eurovision 2016 entry
Audience, not jury, to choose Belarus' Eurovision 2016 entry The representative of Belarus at the international song contest Eurovision 2016 will be chosen by viewers. The jury will be involved only in the preliminary selection of candidates.  Belarus started to receive applications for participation in the national qualifying round of Eurovision 2016 on October 23.  The qualifying round will be held in two stages. In the first phase the jury will hear the participants and select the 15 artists the finals. The final will be held no later than January 25, 2016.
