Belarus' economic potential presented in Portugal
The economic potential of Belarus has been presented in Portugal. This was the first time in the history of the bilateral relations.
The event was held in Porto Business School, which is part of the top 50 leading business schools in the world. It was attended by about 30 representatives of leading Portuguese companies.
The businesses got familiar with the Belarusian vision of prospects of trade and economic cooperation.

Belarus is preparing for the currency redenomination, which will take place on July 1.
The banking system and stores are still working on some technical details that may arise when switching to the new currency, which ISO code will be BYN. The previous BYR 10,000 will now equal BYN 1.
The banking system is ready for the forthcoming redenomination. On July 1 at 8 am, new banknotes and coins will start to be delivered to ATMs, offices, and shops.
By July 1st, new banknotes will reach all corners of the country.
Belarus to produce apple nano pectin
The Minsk region plans to increase the share of innovative products by three times compared to the current output in the coming five years.
An interesting project for the production of nano-products is being worked out at the Chinese-Belarusian Industrial Park. A domestic enterprise will become its resident.
A high-tech product – nano-pectin (used in the food industry and able to remove radionuclides from the human body) - will be made of apples according to a unique Israeli technology, which was exclusively given to the Belarusian enterprise.
Belarus' trade unions analyze issues raised during 5th All-Belarusian National Assembly
More than 300 trade union members discussed job saving, labor laws and improvement of working conditions in Minsk June 29. The Federation of Trade Unions raised all these issues at the fifth All-Belarusian People's Assembly.
Now the main task of trade unions is to bring the key points of the development strategy of the country to every Belarusian. The Federation will also work out a clear algorithm according to which the federation will be working in the next five years.
Belarus banking system ready for currency redenomination, National Bank says
The banking system of Belarus is ready for the forthcoming redenomination, said the National Bank June 29. All the banks of Belarus have the necessary funds to operate in conditions of the redenomination, during its first days. On 1 July at 8 am, new money will be delivered to ATMs, cash registers and retail facilities.
Now the Bank is working to identify any possible abnormal situations and technical details that may arise when setting up equipment and cash registers in retail chains.
Belarus and Kazakhstan open business forum in Minsk
Kazakhstan businesses brought exclusive offers to Minsk. The top 15 exporters of the Asian partner met with Belarusian companions during a bilateral business forum.
At the negotiation table there are not only beautiful booklets, but also real products, which Kazakh companies may start producing in Belarus. Such meetings have been held on a regular basis for more than five years, and the total amount of contracts signed during this time is over $18 million.
Railway station opens in free economic zone Mogilev
A railway station has been opened in the free economic zone Mogilev for the convenience of exporters.
Raw materials and products will now be delivered here by rail transport. Among the residents of the economic zone are large woodworking plants.
All products from these factories are exported. Previously, only road transport was used for shipping. Transportation by the new railway line will be cheaper. Its length is 6 kilometers. It was built for budget funds, as well as the entire infrastructure.
Belarusian, Thai MPs hold talks in Minsk
Coherent policy on the international arena and the strengthening of economic and cultural contacts were among the main topics of the talks held during the visit to Belarus of a parliamentary delegation of Thailand. This morning the Thai MPs held talks with speakers of both chambers of the Belarusian parliament.
Belarus considers Thailand a promising partner in the region and is ready to co-operate across the entire spectrum of the bilateral relations.
Alexander Lukashenko: Belarus-India relations need further impetus
Tashkent hosted a meeting of the Council of Heads of Member States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. The President of Belarus also took part in it as an observer. This makes Belarus the only European country to have acquired such a status.
The Shanghai Cooperation Organization, founded 15 years ago, groups China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. Six other countries have observer status.
Minsk and Beijing to exchange students and teachers
Minsk and Beijing will cooperate more actively in the field of education. On June 22, in the Town Hall, the sister cities signed a memorandum.
Thus, the agreement on the exchange of students and teachers was inked. The Chinese side proposed to establish direct contacts between the universities and schools of the two capitals.
The delegation from Beijing will stay in Minsk for a few days. During the visit, Chinese representatives will visit many schools.
Belarus may optimize state apparatus
