According to the study, the average age of marriage is increasing.  Men started creating families at 27, women at 25.  According to Belstat, in 2016, the majority of women married at the age of 20-24 (marriages at this age made up 33.7% of all marriages). Birth rate exceeds mortality in Belarus for first time in 20 years State awards were presented on November 1 to the deserved people of Belarus for the many years of fruitful work and high professionalism. On behalf of the head of state the Prime Minister of Belarus Andrei Kobyakov presented the awards. The ceremony was held in the Palace of the Republic. The list of awardees includes 94 people: farmers, construction workers, employees of tax authorities as well as people of art and science. Over 250 Belarusians born on Independence Day July 3 Moms of babies who were born on July 3, which is Belarus Independence Day, accepted congratulations and received gifts. On Independence Day, when the whole of Belarus admired the spectacular parade, sang the national anthem and enjoyed the colorful fireworks, more than 250 children were born. One-fifth of them were born in Minsk. 52 children were born in Minsk on that day. There were more boys than girls. Moms of all children received gifts, which included everything a baby and a mom need in the first days after childbirth.

87% of Belarusian kids born in officially registered families in 2015 An increasing number of Belarusian families now give birth to a second and third children. In comparison with 2010, the number of second children in families has grown and reached 36.1%. For third and subsequent babies the figure is nearly 16.8%. By the way, it is namely registered couples that give birth to the majority of young Belarusians. Officially registered couples gave birth to 87% of Belarusian kids in 2015.

484 centenarians live in Belarus There are seven times more women than men among Belarusian centenarians. All in all, there are 484 of people aged 100 or more in Belarus.  Among them are seven Belarusians over the age of 110.  Two of those 484 persons were born at the dawn of the 20th century. 115-year-old women live in the Grodno and Minsk regions.  These regions are leaders in the number of centenarians in Belarus. The smallest number of centenarians lives in the city of Minsk and Mogilev region.

Record high number of newborns in Belarus in 2015 Belarus has set a record in terms of the number of newborns. In 2015, their number stood at more than 119,000 kids. During the last six years, positive dynamism of fertility has been observed. The capital Minsk is ahead of all other regions of Belarus. Almost 23,000 children were born in Minsk, one-fifth of the entire number of births. Minsk is followed by the Brest and Gomel regions. The Statistics Committee notes that the number of boys is higher.

Decree: $10,000 for third child in Belarus Young families with two minor children will be able to build housing using preferential loans with an interest of only 5%.  Such a measure is provided by a draft decree which Alexander Lukashenko discussed on December 5 with Minister of Labor and Social Protection Marianna Shchetkina. Long-term support of fertility and family capital were on the agenda.  DEMOGRAPHIC STATS Birth rate in Belarus has recently been pleasing. While in 2010, 109,000 kids were born per year, in 2014 the figure has increased by almost 9,000.
