Belarus to hold parade on 2016 Independence Day July 3 Legendary T-34 and the new generation of machines will feature at the Independence Day parade, due on July 3, 2016. Armored vehicles, self-propelled weapons and multiple rocket launchers: all in all, about 160 units will partake in the parade. All the machines for the parade are prepared at the military airfield Lipki. World champion in women's 800m Marina Arzamasova hailed upon return to Belarus Belarusian national athletics team have triumphantly returned home. On Sunday, fans met at the airport bronze medalist of the IAAF World Championships 2015 in Beijing Alina Talai. The Belarusian set a new national record in the women's 100 meters hurdles. On August 31 it was the turn to meet Marina Arzamasova. In Beijing, our runner produced an incredible victory in the women's 800m. With two awards, "gold" and "bronze", the Belarusian team took 14th place in the unofficial medal standings.

Peace March from Russia' Kursk reaches Belarus' Brest region Peace March was held in the Brest region. A delegation from the Kursk region has arrived in Brest. The participants of the international event - members of youth organizations - met with Belarusian guys. The meeting place - the memorial complex Brest Fortress - was not chosen accidentally: Kursk residents laid wreaths and flowers and handed the capsule with the earth from the villages destroyed by the Nazis during WWII. Throughout the way, participants visited the burial places of the war victims as well as the main attractions of Belarusian cities.

Belarusian military to go to China for military parade
Belarusian military to go to China for military parade On August 17, Belarusian military will leave for Beijing. Some 85 soldiers of the guard of honor will take part in the parade in honor of the 70th anniversary of the victory over Nazism on September 3. In addition to the solemn procession and an extensive cultural program in the capital of China, the whole country will play host to exhibitions, international seminars and civil memorial services for the victims of the war.

Brest celebrates 996th anniversary The center of Brest on August 1 turned into a large-scale theatrical stage. Street performers literally filled the entire main pedestrian street - Sovetskaya. In 2015, the cultural capital of Belarus, Brest, celebrates 996 years since the first mention. The atmosphere of the festival in Brest was felt in the morning. Before the official start of the celebration, a bike procession consisting of 200 beautiful ladies in dresses and heels rolled through the city.

Eurasian friendship express makes two-hour stopover in Brest The Eurasian friendship express made a two-hour stopover in Brest. The train is on its way from South Korea to Germany. Among the 200 passengers are businessmen, politicians, journalists, scientists and cultural figures. Over 20 days they will cover 14 thousand kilometers and cross the borders of five countries. This is the guests' only stop in Belarus but they say that even a brief acquaintance with the country was enough to form a general impression.

Belarus commemorates June 22 - anniversary of Great Patriotic War beginning On June 22 Belarus marks Day of National Mourning and Remembrance of the victims of the Great Patriotic War. Early in the morning, mourning rallies were held across Belarus. This is exactly the time in the early morning when the war started in Belarus. Brest was among the first cities who had to repel attacks of mighty Nazi troops. Officers, cadets and young people observed a minute of silence in memory of the fallen heroes at the Victory Square in Minsk and laid wreaths at the memorial.

International motorcycle rally pays tribute to WWII victims at Brest Fortress From Moscow to Berlin. Belarus met members of the international motorcycle rally. Bikers are planning to drive a total of six thousand kilometers dedicating this trip to the Great Victory. They are repeating the winning ways of the Red Army and traditionally visit memorials, memorial sites and burial of the dead soldiers. About two dozen motorcyclists came to Belarus from Moscow and were joined by Belarusian bikers. All together they went to the city of Brest. It is in the Brest Fortress where Belarus started to fight Nazi invaders.
