Nikolai Lukashenko partakes in charity run to support seriously ill children A charity run was held in Ostroshitsky Gorodok. A couple of hundred of participants, including the youngest son of the President Nikolai Lukashenko, he run the distance to support seriously ill children. This charity campaign is held all over the country. The participants of it must run 100 thousand kilometers. If Belarusians reach the target distance, the organizers of the campaign will transfer money to the State Institution “Republican Children Hospital for Medical Rehabilitation” for every meter the participants overcome.

It is the only time in the year when hall of the Belarusian National Art Museum wrapped up in darkness, but not total darkness though. Museum visitor: You look at every detail of a picture with a torch and you get to know the masterpiece in more detail.

Why can’t nightingale warbles season be missed? Why can’t nightingale warbles season be missed? Starling houses are made in spring. People wait for the starling to return from southern countries. When the birds settle down in their new houses, the mating season begins and they sing wonderful songs. However, it unlikely that they will beat the singing of nightingales. The season of nightingale warbles lasts for a few weeks and at the moment it is in full spate. The warbles of nightingales today can be heard in Minsk’s parks, special excursions are organized.

National Saturday working campaign held in Kurapaty
National Saturday working campaign held in Kurapaty Belarusians took part in the Subbotnik national volunteer campaign at Kurapaty. Representatives of public organizations, youth were working at the Kurapaty memorial complex, they planted new trees. This complex near Minsk is a place of mass graves. Historians and researches give different numbers of people who died here: from seven thousand to 250 thousand people.

Alexander Lukashenko takes part in national voluntary Saturday working campaign The campaign was held despite the cold April weather. Personnel of organizations, authority officials, and youth were united by the cleanup marathon. Alexander Lukashenko traditionally joined the campaign. Alexander Lukashenko was working at the building site of the Rhythmic Gymnastics Olympic Training Center in Minsk. The President’s team incased floors without joint in choreography halls. Representatives of government office bodies, sportsmen, and coaches were working at the site as well.

Republican Saturday working campaign to be held April 22 The date was placed by the Belarusian government. Employees of different organizations will traditionally either take part in municipal improvement on this day, or they will be on their working places. Part of the earnings will go towards good causes. Half of the funds will stay in local budgets and will go towards reconstruction of historical and cultural monuments, development of establishments for children and youth and the preparation for the summer season of health improvement camps.

People, who survived the hardships of war, were commemorated on the liberation Day from Nazi concentration camps. Belarus counted more than 260 concentration camps. As many as 18 million people were prisoned in them. Many of these people didn’t manage to get out from behind the barbed wire.

Belarusian sportsmen take part in Forest Week 2017 campaign Olympic trees will give roots in Smolevichy district. Eminent Belarusian sportsmen planted them by taking part in Forest Week 2017 campaign. As many as 50 Belarusian athletes devoted a couple of hours of their time to labor, rather than their training. The result will be seen in a couple of decades. The trees were planted on a cleared territory after the 2016 hurricane, where the wind toppled over some hectares of 100-year-old trees.

Belarus to sing national anthem at EXPO in Milan on Independence Day The campaign "Let's sing the anthem together" will be held on July 3 at the Belarusian pavilion at the world exhibition "EXPO" in Milan. The Belarusian booth expects a lot of guests on Independence Day. For them, Belarusian and Italian chefs will give a master class on cooking pancakes, while folk groups will entertain the audience with Belarusian folklore. Over two months, the Belarusian EXPO pavilion was visited by about 100 thousand tourists.

"We are able to take care of what we have," ​​says coordinator of Earth Hour in Belarus On March 28, billions of people around the world joined the "Earth Hour". Thereby saving hundreds of millions of kilowatts of electricity. Belarusians took part in the worldwide campaign too. Many apartments turned off electricity for 60 minutes. From 20.30 to 21.30, evening lights were turned off on some buildings in Minsk and regional centers.

Nationwide campaign "We, the citizens of Belarus" starts March 11 The nationwide campaign "We, the citizens of Belarus" starts today, on March 11. On this day, many boys and girls receive their first passports at the Council of the Republic building. Within a few days, these ceremonies will be held in all regions of the country. Public and political figures, famous actors, athletes, and writers will present not only passports but also souvenirs to children. In the anniversary year of the WWII victory, veterans will be guests of honor at such meetings.
