Slovak investors plan to invest 130 million euros in agriculture in Vitebsk region Slovak investors plan to invest EUR 130 million in the development of agriculture in the Vitebsk region. The list of joint projects includes the construction of a plant for waste treatment and production of medicines. On April 27, the prime ministers of the two countries discussed the economic component of cooperation. The head of the Belarusian government is now in Bratislava. Andrei Kobyakov also expressed confidence that Slovakia will assist in the development of cooperation with the EU.

On April 28 the Prime Minister of Belarus will visit the nuclear power plant Mochovce. The Belarusian delegation is on a visit to Bratislava these days. Slovakia has two NPPs. Their power allows this rather small European state to meet about half of the electricity needs of the country. This is the world's second largest success after France - one of the world leaders in nuclear energy.

On November 25, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko met with the Prime Minister of Slovakia Robert Fico and expressed his gratitude to Slovakia for the normalization of relations between Belarus and the EU. Slovakia is now chairing the European Union. In addition to politics the two officials discussed the prospects of economic cooperation. Among the most pressing areas is pharmaceuticals, nuclear energy, wood processing, production of tires.

Belarusian-Slovak Business Forum to open in Vitebsk July 12 More than 20 Slovak companies on July 12 will participate in a business forum in Vitebsk.  The event will bring together Vitebsk authorities, associations for support of small and medium businesses of Russia and Europe, as well as specialists of relevant financial institutions. Open dialogue is the main goal of the Belarusian-Slovakian forum at which participants will discuss prospects for cooperation in energy, engineering, wood processing, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, light industry, tourism and recreation.

Poland, Slovakia, UAE, Japan diplomats present credentials to Belarus President Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko on June 6 received credentials from ambassadors of 13 countries. This is a symbolic message from the leaders of these countries with a request to believe their representative. Addressing the diplomats, the head of state expressed confidence that their mission will deepen and expand the bilateral ties. Delegation of Slovak National Council arrives in Minsk
Delegation of Slovak National Council arrives in Minsk Minsk and Bratislava. Officials from Slovakia and Belarus met in Minsk 3 September to review bilateral cooperation. The Slovakian delegation represents the National Council of the Slovak Republic. MPs held a number of meetings and visited leading Belarusian enterprises. In addition to the dialogue on the inter-parliamentary level the sides are planning to implement joint projects in the field of investment and economic cooperation.
