Belarus knocked out of Women's Eurobasket 2017 after Turkey defeat The Belarusian women's basketball team have lost the third match in a row at the Eurobasket in the Czech Republic and are knocked out of the tournament. Belarus lost their matches against Italy (60–80) and Slovakia (59–68) and desperately needed a win against Turkey. However, on June 19 Natalia Trofimova's Belarus also came empty-handed (74–88).

Belarus to pay more attention to children's basketball Maxim Ryzhenkov has been re-elected as chairman of the Belarusian Basketball Federation. He was elected on May 18 at an extraordinary election conference. Ryzhenkov outlined the main directions of the Federation's work in the foreseeable future. According to him, great attention will be paid to the training of coaches and internal championships. Also, the support will be given to the amateur league. The Federation will also develop Paralympic basketball. This is not only a sports program, but also a social one.

In the previous matches coach Victoria Datsun's Belarus were defeated Poland (72:60), Denmark (92:63), and Albania (94:26). Final standings in Group B: Belarus - 8 points, Poland - 7, Ukraine - 6, Denmark - 5, Albania - 4.

The Belarusians started the match badly, falling 16 points behind in the middle of the second quarter (18:34). Nevertheless, Belarus did not give up and resisted until the last minute. At the end of the match, the deficit was reduced to only three points.

Belarus into second stage of EuroBasket Women 2015 The women's national basketball team of Belarus, after victories over Italy and Poland, won in their third match in a row at the European Championship, beating one of the favorites of the tournament Turkey in the Romanian town of Oradea.  Suffice it to say that Turkey took medals from two previous Euros silver in 2011 and bronze in 2013. At the World Championships in 2014 the Turkish team took 4th place, and were 5th at the 2012 Olympics in London. The Dragons were visited by the best player of Belarus Artyom Parakhovsky and his club Nizhny Novgorod. The Russian club is one of the 16 strongest in Europe. Tsmokі Mіnsk beat BC Yenisey in last round of EuroChallenge The men's basketball club team Tsmokі Mіnsk finished their EuroChallenge season.  In the final match of the group stage, the Minsk club beat the leader of the section Yenisey at home.  This match did not decide anything, which did not prevent the opponents from showing spectacular basketball. The winner was decided at the end of the game.  The Dragons celebrated a 76:71 victory but remained bottom of the group.
