Belarus parliament adopts draft laws on alternative service in the second reading On May 13, Belarusian MPs passed in the second reading a package of draft laws on alternative service in the Armed Forces. The day before, some adjustments were made to them.  For example, by analogy with conscripts, those falling under the alternative service law will be entitled to receive free medications if necessary. They will also have the right to remain on the waiting list of those in need of better housing conditions throughout the service and one year afterwards.

Belarus marks Interior Troops Day March 18 Duty, Honor, Fatherland. Today, on March 18, Belarus is marking Day of Interior Troops.   Protection of public order, canine training, convoys and destruction of explosives - this is not a complete list of the tasks that these troops perform. They were created on March 18, 1918, in Vitebsk from among 23 volunteers from the escort guard. The Belarusian army must respond to modern challenges and threats.  The President met with the command staff stating that the army is the most important factor in maintaining peace and tranquility in Belarus. Alexander Lukashenko noted with confidence that the political situation in Belarus remains stable.

The President touched upon the role of officer corps in the armed forces with regard to modern teaching methods of warfare and social protection of servicemen. During the visit to the Ministry of Defense, the President was given a Kalashnikov rifle.
