Belarusians succeed in 1st round of US Open qualification Belarusian tennis players have advanced to the second qualifying round of the US Open. In the men's singles Belarusian Vladimir Ignatik (202) beat in two sets Chinese tennis player Jason Jung (223), 6:1, 7:5. Ignatik's next opponent will be Russian Evgeny Donskoy (138).

Azarenka into Wimbledon 3rd round, Govortsova sets personal record The Belarusian tennis player Olga Govortsova advanced to the third round of Wimbledon beating France's Alize Cornet (25) 7:6 (8:6), 2:6, 6:1.  This result is the best in the Belarusian's career. Earlier she could not advance further than the second round at Wimbledon.  Her third-round opponent will be Slovakian Magdaléna Rybáriková.  The former world No.1 Belarusian Victoria Azarenka, thanks to the victory over Belgian Kirsten Flipkens, also entered the third round of Wimbledon.
