They praised Belarusian IT sector and said they intend to launch in Belarus cars of the future (without drivers).  There are many clever heads in Belarus. Belarus and Latvia to host 2021 IIHF World Championship Good news came from German Cologne May 19. Belarus and Latvia will host the World Hockey Championship in 2021. The decision was made at the Congress of the IIHF. Finland was the competitor of Minsk and Riga. The votes divided: 55 vs. 52. The IIHF World Championship is set to take place from 7 to 23 May 2021. It is expected that the final and the semifinal matches will be held in Minsk.

Minsk and Riga apply to host Ice Hockey World Championship 2021 In 2021, Belarusians may once again witness the grand sports event - the World Ice Hockey Championship. However, unlike the similar competition in 2014, this time Minsk plans to host the landmark championship together with western neighbor Riga. Four Belarusians into IIHF Council The Council of the International Ice Hockey Federation now includes four representatives of Belarus. Deputy Chairman of the Belarusian Ice Hockey Federation (FHRB) Sergei Goncharov now heads the referee committee of the IIHF, FHRB General Secretary Yaroslav Zavgorodny has become a member of the Committee of Youth and Youth Hockey and FHRB Athletic Director Alexander Khromylyov has been elected member of the IIHF's evaluation committee.

Belarus submits bid to host 2021 IIHF World Championships Belarus has applied to host the Ice Hockey World Championship 2021. "Yes, we have sent official documents to the International Ice Hockey Federation," said the secretary general of the Association "Ice Hockey Federation of the Republic of Belarus" (FHRB) Yaroslav Zavgorodny in an interview to the TV channel Belarus 5. According to Zavgorodny, at the next semi-annual congress it will be known who will be Belarus' rivals in a bid to host the World Championship 2021.

IIHF head René Fasel may visit Minsk in September President of the International Ice Hockey Federation Rene Fasel plans to visit Minsk in September, said representative of Belarus in the IIHF Council, Deputy Chairman of the Belarusian Ice Hockey Federation Sergei Goncharov in an interview with the Federation's press service. According to Sergei Goncharov Rene Fasel plans to attend matches of the Olympic qualification tournament in Minsk. The tournament will take place at Minsk Arena from 1 to 4 September.

Belarus to bid for 2021 IIHF World Championship The Belarus Ice Hockey Federation will submit a bid to host the 2021 IIHF World Championship in Minsk. This decision was taken at a meeting of the executive committee of the federation. Belarus plans to host the 2021 championship in Minsk at two arenas: Minsk Arena and Chizhovka Arena, the same venues that hosted the games of the 2014 tournament.
