Belarus GDP should grow to roughly $100m by 2025

By 2025 the GDP of Belarus should grow to BYN 200 billion. This is twice as much as now.

This task was set by the head of state in early March. Belarusian senators discussed their role in fulfilling an ambitious goal in Mogilev. Now they are working to create the necessary legal conditions.Priority is given to the development of entrepreneurship, the creation of highly effective industries and the promotion of employment.

Mikhail Myasnikovich, Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus:
We sent detailed proposals to the Council of Ministers. First of all, it concerns investment activity. We believe that these issues are still insufficiently settled in the legislation. Other things are proposals for public-private partnership.

Alexander Popkov, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus:
We need to determine the points of growth, we must determine the places where we must form the employment of our population. Today we must think about a new generation, about youth.

Belarusian senators also visited a number of problematic enterprises in the Mogilev region. The plant Strommashina now works only for a third of its capacity, but there are options to enter new markets.
