Darya Domracheva wins last biathlon race in 2017/2018 season

Darya Domracheva has won the last mass-start biathlon race in the season at the IBU World Cup. It was the 10th anniversary of the prominent Belarusian athlete in the mass-starts, and 34th victory in her sports career.

Therefore, Darya now holds the same position with Germany’s Magdalena Neuner in terms of the number of victories. Only the legendary biathlete Magdalena Forsberg has over 42 victories.

Another two Belarusian biathletes participated in the last race of the 2017/2018. Nadezhda Skardino came 16th with one missed shot, Irina Krivko settled on the 24th position with two missed shots. The battle for the main trophy of the season turned out to be pretty tough. Finland’s Kaisa Mäkäräinen won the Big Crystal Globe, leaving Anastasia Kuzmina on the second position.

As for the overall results, Kaisa Mäkäräinen gained 822 points, Anastasia Kuzmina gained 819. Darya Domracheva settled on the third position with 804 points. Nadezhda Skardino ended the season on the 18th position, Irina Krivko on the 20th, Dinara Alimbekova on the 74th, Nadezhda Pisareva on the 80th and Darya Yurkevich on the 93rd.
