Belarus, Georgia discuss elevator manufacturing

The Belarusian delegation has already begun its work in Georgia.

The possibilities of a Belarusian-Georgian lift production have been discussed in Tbilisi on March 21, 2018. It is expected that by the end of 2018, the plant will manufacture the first lot of 100 lifts. Half of the lifts in Georgia were produced in Belarus during the Soviet times. As many as 25 thousand of them need to be modernized. First of all, they will be replaced in Tbilisi and Batumi.

Mikhail Rusyi visited the production platform.

Mikhail Rusyi, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus:
There is a whole complex here. Specialists for service will be prepared here as well, I mean riggers, electricians, locksmiths and others. They will be putting a lift here into one and beginning their studying.

Dimitry Kumsishvili, First Vice Prime Minister of Georgia, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development:
Today we have already spoken about harvesting machines. Georgia needs them. Our Agriculture Ministry will be discussing the possibility together with the colleagues from the Belarusian Industry Ministry of buying them. In my opinion this issue is very important, it will also create new working places.

It is necessary to add that Georgia has a regime of free trade in different regions. Therefore, the potential of mutual plants is not limited by the inner market only.
