The Embassy of Belarus in Vilnius has sent a note to Lithuania about an incident with a Belarusian woman on the border on arrival in Vilnius.

The Belarusian citizen Nika Koshar posted in a social network that she was detained on an unreasonable suspicion of drug trafficking and was also subjected to rough personal search and a number of medical examinations, including X-rays and endoscopy.

This happened in Vilnius, where she flew from Peru with a transfer in Amsterdam. The woman told us she now keeps in touch with our diplomats who contacted her immediately after the incident. All the circumstances of the incident are being specified.

Andrei Shuplyak, Deputy Head of the Information and Digital Diplomacy Department of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry:
After clarifying all the circumstances of the incident, she was recommended to address complaints to the relevant official authorities of Lithuania. We, in turn, prepared and sent an official note to the Lithuanian side requesting about the circumstances of the incident that happened to the Belarusian citizen, requesting an investigation and that the Belarusian side be officially informed about the results of this investigation.

According to a large Baltic information portal, a public relations representative of the criminal service of the Lithuanian customs confirmed that the personal search did take place.
