New captains for Belarus' national tennis teams appointed

Captains of men's and women's national tennis teams of Belarus have become known.

According to the Belarusian Tennis Federation, Tatiana Poutchek became captain of the Belarus women's national tennis team in the Fed Cup. She already held this post from 2012 to 2015.

Vladimir Voltchkov once again became captain of the Davis Cup team.

The BTF noted that it considered Maxim Mirnyi, Alexander Shvets, Denis Smolekov and Vladimir Voltchkov for the post.

Tatiana Poutchek and Vyacheslav Konnikov were candidates for coaching women's team. Sergei Teterin, Semyon Kagan, Eduard Dubrov, and Vladimir Perko withdrew.

Chairman of the BTF Sergei Teterin noted that being a team captain is a huge responsibility.

It is necessary to go to tournaments, track in real time results of tennis players' performance, analyze their performances, monitor and analyze opponents.

In mid-February 2018, Voltchkov and Eduard Dubrov were released from their posts.
