Сosmonaut Oleg Novitskiy visits Minsk Suvorov Military School

On March 12, cadets of the Minsk Suvorov Military School had a chance to personally ask cosmonaut Oleg Novitskiy about space and earthly matters.

A tour of the oldest Belarusian forge of military personnel was organized for the famous countryman. Oleg Novitskiy had never been here before, so his communication with those who have been wearing shoulder straps since childhood was even more interesting.

Taking the opportunity, the guys asked the cosmonaut about the details of life in weightlessness. By the way, before the visit of the Suvorov School, Oleg Novitskiy visited the Military Academy of Belarus.

Oleg Novitskiy, cosmonaut:
Very serious approach. Technical equipment. I even drove a tank simulator. Awesome, inexpressible sensations. In my time, we didn't have things like that. I am very glad that this is a worthy combination of progress, when you can practice without leaving the class. You can get wonderful skills: driving a car, using weapons in real conditions. The attitude of the teaching and command staff to the children is responsible and strict.

Oleg Novitskiy flew in space twice and spent 340 days there. Now he is preparing for the third space flight. At the end of January, the main medical commission recognized him as fit for a new start. Now the cosmonaut is waiting for the official appointment to the crew.

Oleg Novitskiy:

- 45 years
- Born in Belarus' town of Cherven
- Hero of Russia
- Pilot and cosmonaut
