Azarenka/Sabalenka duo loses in BNP Paribas Open doubles

Belarusian tennis players Azarenka/Sabalenka lost in a doubles match to Russians Makarova/Vesnina at BNP Paribas Open.

In the second round match, the score was 4:6, 3:6 in favor of Russian tennis players. The match lasted 1 hour and 14 minutes.

Makarova/Vesnina succeeded in 4 break-points out of 11, and did not make any double errors. Azarenka and Sabalenka were able to break only once.

In the next match, the Russians will take on Spaniards Lara Arruabarrena and Arantxa Parra.

The rest of the tournament in Indian Wells will be without Belarusian tennis players.

The last Belarusian to be knocked out of the singles was Aliaksandra Sasnovich, who lost to Denmark's Caroline Wozniacki, 4:6, 6:2, 6:3.

Aryna Sabalenka went down to the Czech Markéta Vondroušová, 6:2, 6:2. Azarenka lost to USA Sloane Stephens 1:6, 5:7.

In the second round of singles qualification, 19-year-old Vera Lapko was defeated by American Sofia Kenin, 4:6, 6:3, 1:6.
