Belarus' tennis player Victoria Azarenka lost to Sloane Stephens from the USA at the BNP Paribas Open tournament in Indian Wells.

The match ended with a score 1:6, 5:7.

After the loss, Azarenka commented on the match, according to

"Obviously a lot of work to do. For me, the most important is to have a clear head, which obviously right now is not. Once I figure all my stuff outside of the court, I'll be able to focus and be 100 percent when I'm on the court to be there."

Azarenka, two-time winner of BNP Paribas Open, said that at the beginning of the match she felt good, and then errors began. "I did not understand what I was doing on the court."

According to the player, she showed more fighting in the second set.

Serena Williams returned to the court for the first time after the break. She is now performing in Indian Wells.

Earlier, another Belarusian tennis player Aryna Sabalenka lost in the last 32 to Czech Markéta Vondroušová, 2:6, 2:6.

Belarus’ Aliaksandra Sasnovich will meet with Denmark’s Caroline Wozniacki in the third round.
