President to Belarus' athletes: Rhythmic Gymnastics Palace is your home

The Palace of Rhythmic Gymnastics opened in Minsk. It is equipped with everything necessary for the development of rhythmic gymnastics. The complex is located on Prospekt Pobediteley.

The center boasts two training and several choreography rooms, aerobics rooms, a gym, a swimming pool, saunas and even a hotel block.

Russian rhythmic gymnast Alina Kabaeva also attended the opening ceremony and said she was pleased to see the new beautiful complex.

All this will be used as a training base in preparing for the II European Games, which the Belarus capital will host in 2019.

The total area of a stylish four-story building is almost 15,000m2. Up to 150 people can train here at the same time. These are participants of the national and junior teams of the country and the group of early sports training.

The decision to build the center was made by the Belarus President. Alexander Lukashenko worked here on a nationwide Saturday labor day (Subbotnik): he concreted monolithic floors in choreography halls.

At the ceremony, the head of state expressed special gratitude to the builders and thoroughly examined the center's capabilities.

Alexander Lukashenko, President of Belarus:
I am absolutely not sorry for the money that we invested in this beautiful building. I want to thank our builders. Here you did well. We agreed less than a year ago that by March 8 we will present such a beautiful and cozy palace to these wonderful, best girls, their parents, all those who are engaged and responsible for artistic gymnastics today, and we did it. This is your home.

I want you not only to work here, the work of the athlete is terrible, I know this by myself. I know how difficult it is for you. I wanted you to be able to recover here and rest. Live in this house amicably, peacefully, work, train, relax, we'll be cheering for you.

I have only one wish for you. If I tell you I wish you health, probably it will be wrong. As a person who understands your sport, I know that everything may happen, so let Lord protect you from cruel injuries. This is the most important thing. I want to wish you: if you solve these problems, you will definitely be world and Olympic champions, and you will even win against Alina [Kabaeva]'s students, team Russia. You will win if you do not psychologically limit yourself. Reset this psychology, act like in training. That's what I want you to do. I also wish you good psychological mood, dedication, courage in this female, but courageous sport. I wish you happiness and success.

At the end of the ceremony, the gymnasts gave the President the picture Dreams Come True! It was created during the execution of one of numbers with the help of gold dust. The picture depicts the new sports complex.
