The Republican Center for Rhythmic Gymnastics Olympic Training solemnly opened in Minsk. The President of Belarus took part in the ceremony.

Alexander Lukashenko expressed special gratitude to the builders and thoroughly familiarized himself with the functional capabilities of the center. It is equipped with everything necessary for the development of rhythmic gymnastics.

The complex is located on Prospekt Pobediteley [Victors Avenue] in Minsk. The center boasts two training and several choreography rooms, aerobics rooms, a gym, a swimming pool, saunas and even a hotel block.

All this will be used as a training base in preparing for the II European Games, which the Belarus capital will host in 2019.

Retired Russian rhythmic gymnast Alina Kabaeva also attended the opening ceremony and said she admires the new facility.

Alina Kabaeva, Olympic champion in rhythmic gymnastics (Russia):
It is an honor for me to be here. I'm very happy, really. I have not really seen it yet, but from what I know this is an amazing building.

The center is a stylish four-story building with a total area of almost 15,000m2. Up to 150 people can train here at the same time.

These are participants of the national and junior teams of the country and the group of early sports training.
