First Chinese language faculty opens in Belarus

The first faculty of Chinese language and culture has opened in Belarus. Previously, all Oriental languages were taught at the same faculty in Minsk, and Chinese could only be learned as an additional one. Now for many students it will become the main academic subject.

Natalia Baranova, Rector of the Minsk State Linguistic University:
All the students who are currently studying at this faculty and those who are coming to this faculty will undergo part of their training in Chinese universities. We needed to harmonize our teaching approaches with Chinese ones. And we managed to solve this issue.

Luo Zhanhui, Charge d'Affaires of the People's Republic of China in the Republic of Belarus:
Exchange and cooperation in the field of education has risen to a new level. For us, this is very good news and we want our cooperation to develop even faster.

About 300 students will study at a new faculty at the Minsk State Linguistic University. These are not only future translators and teachers, but also specialists in foreign economic communications and international tourism.
