Georgy Katulin comments on EOC recommendations for 2019 European Games

The 2019 European Games will begin in less than 500 days. Janez Kocijančič, the President of the European Olympic Committees, has no serious remarks concerning the preparation works for the event.

He has come to Belarus on a three-day visit to inspect the facilities for the 2019 European Games.

Janez Kocijančič, President of the European Olympic Committees:
We are sure that this important sports event for Europe will be held at a very high level. Belarus can host such large-scale events. And I want to emphasize that you have very good professionals. They have already created a good atmosphere of communication between the EOC and the representatives of the directorate. I am sure that the Second European Games will leave a bright heritage for the Belarusian people. Belarus has experience of holding international sports events. Nevertheless, it is necessary to use a complex approach towards the preparation works.

The organizers have received a range of recommendations from the EOC.

Georgy Katulin, Director of the Foundation "Directorate of the Second European Games of 2019":
The main recommendation is to keep up the pace of the preparation works. The closer the European Games are, the quicker the recommendations given should be realized. A lot depends on the internal organization process, on the realization and the presence of internal reserves.

A many as 4000 athletes will fight for 200 medals in 23 kinds of sport. Minsk is expecting delegations from 50 countries.
