25th Belarusian Book Fair underway in Minsk

As many as 32 countries have brought new publications and latest achievements of publishing houses to Minsk.

The participants were welcomed by the Belarus President.

The spiritual and moral development of society is the most important task for Belarus. And this forum is one of the most important events in Belarus. So, we appreciate that people from different countries share this moment with us.

Here, literature breakthroughs and achievements are discussed. Famous writers and government officials participate in this fair.

Zoran Petrović, poet, novelist and screenwriter from Serbia:
I have travel a lot around the world. And I can safely say that all book stores look basically the same. Though, such book fairs bring something new to the literary world.

At this fair you can see how Grigory Rapota, Union State Secretary of Belarus and Russia, prints a list of Bible at a printing machine using the method of Francysk Scaryna (translator and one of the first book printers in Eastern Europe).

Our goal is to reflect the co-relation of  Belarus with Russia. Therefore, we brought some popular publications to show the historical and cultural relation of these two nations.

Here, you can choose a lot of historical, educational and children's literature. I think it’s great that people from 32 countries present different books in Minsk.

The German Ambassador shows popular books and tourist guide- book.

Also, we present a lot of children's literature. Some books are in Belarusian and German. We have already discussed with our Belarusian colleagues how to expand Belarusian literature in Germany and how to intensify translation activity.

The US attorney says that sometimes there is not enough time to read. Though, the desire to read is the most important driver.

The Book Fair will last through March 4.
