Lukashenko: Belarus remained the only safe corridor for cargo and capital

The most dangerous trends for the internal security of the country were discussed in the Palace of Independence on February 27.

Family violence, drunkenness, responsibility for drunk driving, corruption - these are the main topics that were raised at the meeting of the Security Council. The Belarus President stressed that everything must be done to ensure that Belarusians feel safe in their home country. According to Alexander Lukashenko, sometimes it is not so easy.

Alexander Lukashenko, President of Belarus:
If we are to speak objectively, it's not easy for us to combat crime, because, as I said last time, we all have seen what is happening around our country.

It is also necessary to understand that Belarus has remained the only corridor - a safe, quiet corridor for the movement of people, cargo, and probably capital from the East to the West and from the West to the East.

This greatly complicates the criminogenic situation in our country.

At the same time, there are many problems in the moral plane. Sometimes it all starts with family violence. It is important to prevent and suppress crimes behind closed doors. It is also necessary for Belarusian authorities to reconsider responsibility for offenses committed in a drunken state.
