Belarus celebrates Defender of Fatherland Day

Belarus celebrates Day of Defenders of the Fatherland and the 100th anniversary of the Armed Forces.

During this time, the Belarusian army passed a difficult path of development. Today the Armed Forces of Belarus are, without exaggeration, the basis of the military organization of the state and its independence.

February 23 is one of the brightest dates in Belarus. This holiday is rightly considered the day of courage and heroism of all generations of defenders. Today their memory is revered throughout the country.

A solemn ceremony of laying wreaths at the Victory Monument in the center of Minsk was held in the morning. The event was attended by representatives of law enforcement agencies, veterans of the Armed Forces and the leadership of the city.
