Domracheva brings Belarus gold in relay at Olympics 2018

Belarus sensationally won the women's Olympic relay on February 22. The team's leader Darya Domracheva finished the race with Belarusian flag.

Sweden finished second, while France was third.

This is second medal for Domracheva at the Olympics. She earlier won silver in the mass start.

This gold is second for Belarus after freestyler Hanna Huskova's success in women's aerials.

Dinara Alimbekova debuted for Belarus: this is her first Olympics and what a start: a gold medal! She also started in the individual race in Korea but took 56th place missing once at every shooting range. Dinara earlier won the youth world championship on her native land in Raubichi.

In terms of speed Dinara was 12th in her section, while Domracheva showed the best speed being 1st in the list. Irina Krivko and Nadezhda Skardino were between them in terms of speed.

Belarus also showed the best shooting during the relay race.

Domracheva, who did not start well at the 2018 Games, is now four-time Olympic champion. All in all Darya won six Olympic medals in her career, the same number as Russian-Slovakian biathlete Anastasia Kuzmina.

Domracheva is now the only four-time Olympic biathlon gold-medal winner in the world.

Darya earlier said this Olympics may be the last for her. Domracheva returned to biathlon after childbirth. She has a daughter with Norwegian biathlete Ole Einar Bjørndalen.
