Belarus left without medal in men's freestyle at 2018 Olympics

On February 18, the final of the freestyle competition at the 2018 Olympics took place. A set of medals in ski acrobatics among men was contested.  

First place was taken by Alexander Abramenko from Ukraine, second place was Jia Zongyang from China, and in the third position was Ilya Burov from Russia.  

Only one Belarusian athlete - Stanislau Hladchenko - took part in the final. He finished sixth.

Maxim Gustik and Olympic champion Anton Kushnir did not qualify for the final. Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko sent a complaint to the IOC President about the refereeing of the titled athlete.  

President said: "Kushnir jumps without making mistakes. He is a real man. He does not make any mistakes."

Stanislau Hladchenko successfully qualified for the first final and was was third after final 2. During the third jump with a high coefficient of complexity, Stanislau made a mistake when landing.  

Belarusian freestyle men could not win a medal at the Games for the first time since the Olympics 1998.  

Last week Belarusian Hanna Huskova became Olympic freestyle champion  

Biathlete Daria Domracheva won the fifth Olympic medal in her career, becoming the silver medalist in the mass start.
