Famous French writer and director launched his book in Minsk

In the French multimedia library, students and schoolchildren had a conversation with the writer and film director David Foenkinos.

He is the author of more than 10 novels translated into 40 languages. His novel Charlotte became a world bestseller with 450,000 copies sold. Five years ago, the author visited Minsk as a member of the jury of the Listapad Film Festival.

David Foenkinos, writer (France):
I really like Belarus, I'm here for the fourth time. We communicate with people, students, and cultural figures. Belarusians ask very interesting and profound questions, even philosophical ones, for example, about existentialism. It's amazing.

Veronika Pilipenko, student of Belarus State Economic University:
I have been studying French for a long time and I believe that meeting a native speaker is an incredible experience, both linguistic and cultural, especially if this person is a writer. After this meeting, I will read all the books of David.

For several hours audience did not let their favorite writer go asking dozens of questions. The evening ended with an autograph session and a souvenir photo.
