The director of Mink metro Vladimir Sotnikov has given an interview to the “Belarus Segodnya” newspaper, where he had explained why the Belarusian underground doesn’t have Wi-Fi.

The director of Minsk metropolitan explained, that a research has been carried out. The result of the research showed that a passenger spends no more than 15 minutes underground in average. He compared Minks metro with Moscow underground, where people spend up to 2 hours travelling. And it is a big difference.

Vladimir Sotnikov, director of Minsk metropolitan:
At the moment we need to carry out a lot of work to make a mutual decision: to install transmitting signal systems, taking into consideration the fact that the metro system is not straight, it has a lot of curves and technical barriers. From the other hand, passengers using smartphones in metro put their lives to risk, the subway is a high-risk place.
