Bjørndalen supports Shipulin during Olympics 2018

The leader of the Russian biathlon team, Olympic champion Anton Shipulin revealed who supported him after it became known that he would not take part in the Olympic Games in Pyeongchang.

In an interview with the TV channel "Match TV" the biathlete noted that he was ready to go to the Games at any time - even on the day of their opening.

Anton Shipulin said that he was supported by the Belarusian biathlete Daria Domracheva after news from the IOC.

Anton Shipulin (in an interview with "Match TV"):
The only thing was that Daria Domracheva wrote to me. She said Bjoerndalen was very worried about all this and asked to send greetings to me. That was nice. Because he is my idol, the man for whose achievements I adore. Indeed he is now much closer to us.

In 2014 Domracheva and Shipulin won the Race of Champions in Moscow.

After the race Shipulin said that "Dasha is like a little sister for me."

Anton Shipulin also noted that the birth of the child will add motivation to Domracheva and Bjoerndalen. The eminent biathletes became parents of a girl in 2016.
