Belarusian Olympic medalists can help sports schools financially

The day before the start of the Winter Games in Pyeongchang, the President's Sports Club announced the Olympic Choice charitable project.

Belarusian athletes who win competitions will be able to help children's sports schools.

Medalists will decide which of the children's and youth sports schools in Belarus they want to sponsor.

Once they make their choice, the President's Sports Club transfers money to those schools, which will be used for infrastructure improvement.

Money, as the experience of the past years shows, goes to schools where athletes began their career. The charitable campaign is held in Belarus for the fourth time.

The amount of money to be sent to schools depends on the performance result. It has not changed since the Rio Games 2016.

Back then, thanks to the success of Belarusian Olympians, the President's Sports Club transferred to sports schools BYN85,000 (about $43,000).
