Latvian PM to visit Belarus Hi-Tech Park

Belarus and Latvia intend to intensify interparliamentary cooperation.

This matter was discussed during the meeting of the Prime Minister of Latvia with Belarusian parliamentarians. In general, the countries are interested in establishing a constructive dialogue. For this there is potential, first of all economic. It is planned that on February 8 the delegation from Latvia will visit the High Technology Park and the Chinese-Belarusian industrial park Great Stone.

Mikhail Myasnikovich, Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus:
We are actively involved in Eurasian Economic Union integration. I believe that Latvia could actively use the opportunities of our bilateral relations in order to promote its interests within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union. That is, to Russia, Kazakhstan and other countries.

Latvia is an important trading partner of Belarus. In 2017, Belarus and Latvia increased joint trade turnover. It amounted to almost $400 million. Plans are to increase this figure. Latvian investors are interested in Belarus' projects in pharmaceutics, woodworking and trade.
